The Results. [MRI]
Have found myself feeling pretty resigned to being a burden
on my children for at least a couple of months. Will have to wait until Dr. Kern
has time to work on repairing my back before we know when this will begin, but
can just say that at least we now know what is wrong. No, not sure just how it
all came about, but the left side is messed up except for the place the doctor
repaired the first time. That part won’t need any further work done on it. Deep
sigh.
Heard from Roger today while they are in Wisconsin. Cold and
icy up there. Her dad lives up that way, don’t you see. Can’t imagine wanting
to be there in this weather for any other reason. But then, some folks feel
that way about being in Texas during tornado season. Let’s face it, the weather
makes the attitudes.
United sent the sweetest lady to deliver some Rx today after
lunch. She informed me that her husband delivers my mail on the days that Kevin
is not running the route. Enjoyed visiting with her even for that short little
spell. Funny how we meet folks that have other connections to us. Have no idea
if any mail was delivered today, but don’t feel like wobbling out there to find
out.
Had chicken egg rolls for din-upper today. But also had
three cups of chicken bouillon. That stuff is better than coffee as far as how
it treats my body. Warm and comforting and non-caffeine. Still, enjoy the taste
of coffee first thing in the morning even if it has to be decaf. Dogs don’t
care as long as they get fed first before Mom sits down to have her coffee.
The military kids across the street are still not back from
Washington state. Hope all is well with them and that their flight can take off
despite the weird weather. Know the cats will probably be ok, so promising
myself not to worry about it. Still, if it is necessary, maybe I can get Albert
to walk me over there to check on them in a day or two if the kids are not
back. They expected to be gone four days. Today is the fourth one. Here’s
hoping.
Woke up thinking it was Sunday. Doesn’t take much to mess up
my internal calendar. At least Thompson got the right pill from his pill box
even if the old woman took the one for Sunday. Rolling eyes here. Yes, the
silly phone would be happy to tell me the day of the week if someone were smart
enough to look at it. Oh well.
Have some celery that needs to be either cooked or otherwise
prepared for meals. Thinking celery stuffed with pimento cheese would be nice
if the celery is still crisp. If it is soggy, well. Hate to waste food, but
soggy celery is pretty doggone useless. Not even soup is improved with soggy
stuff.
The dogs have had quite a bit of ground turkey that they eat
like champs! It does have a good taste to it. They clean their bowls up completely!
It was easy to cook two chubs of that stuff and put it up in a closed bowl to
portion out as needed. Even Thompson stands there waiting for it to be placed
on the feeding stand. Yes! He likes it! Cheese is good, but this stuff is
better, obviously!
Patty and the old woman were trying to find something funny
to talk about this morning. Seems like we get a laugh out of some of the dang-est
things. We just enjoy griping about the weather and when we have to turn on the
heaters or turn on the ceiling fans! Never know which it will be! Life is never
all that dull. And then, we know we can enjoy griping together at least once a
day!
Filling up water bottles around here has kept me walking
from one room to another to be sure each room has at least two bottles to empty
during a day or night. Determined not to become dehydrated! Who knew that water
drinking could be so very important!
Hoping to hear from Rylan and his family soon. Thought they
were coming one day this week, but have not heard from them. Pictures are
great, but little boy hugs are fantastic! God gives us the grands to help us
remember the first ones we loved.
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
