After Nine and Still Hot.

 After Nine and Still Hot.

This day started out pretty decent and not even at 80 degrees when the gauge on the back deck smiled at me. Well, maybe it was the old woman smiling. We had a bit of cloud cover and the hint of moisture in the air. Thunder happened again last night and maybe some moisture hit the ground. Still, it is not what one would call “rain.” Oh, Lord, please give us rain and enough to cool the heat and water the pastures and fill the tanks and lakes. Yes, that is asking for a lot, but why go small when we need it all!

Services for Sunday school went well and the sermon was good. This pastor tries very hard to make it easier for us to understand that we need to give love and to encourage everyone we come into contact with to know the Lord as we do. Not getting out much has a tendency to limit my reach, but at least my prayers are heard whether or not my arms can’t touch the ones for whom my prayers are meant. One of the ladies in Sunday school reminded us today that we are ALWAYS able to reach others with our prayers. God listens; He answers prayers. Judy K. was very wise in her answer today. We need to be reminded more often.

Maybe little old ladies such as the old woman may not be able to go out and meet with many people or otherwise be around those outside of the church, but our prayers meet others right where they are in life. Whether it is our children, grandchildren, or other family, their lives are in our prayers each day. Today is just like every other day in that respect. Our love is the reflection of God’s love for us and all of His children. Let us rejoice in that love and pray that those who do not know it yet will be brought into His kingdom.

Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
