Changed the font on this tonight. Can see, but not great. Have just about decided that the eyeballs are getting warped by trying to read so much--or something. Anyway, this larger font makes it easier to read. It won't transfer to the same size when it is put into FB, so it won't be a problem there.
Haven't heard from Jerry or Nora today about the Mustang, so who knows if they will even show up this evening. Guess if they don't, it is just not meant to be. Gotta keep a positive attitude about whatever goes on in life--one way or the other.
Talked to my daughter-in-law and we laughed about the chicken recipe book--Fifty Shades of Chicken. Just the name alone was funny, but the way the chicken looked at his sharp knives and those long, strong fingers! Oh dear! Told her not to expect any fine cooking to take place around here. But have a feeling she already knew that.
Tracy said that she had to do a teleconference from home this past Wednesday, and it was public, so Landon helped her set up her bedroom where nothing showed behind her except a blank wall. The library folks were so impressed that others wanted a copy of her presentation. Let's face it, some folks are just good at that sort of thing. She and another librarian had also begun some kind of program to entice young people to get a library card and had age-appropriate books for young people all sorted out to help both the students and teachers. The library association wanted to know why they were helping teachers: Tracy's answer: We are BOTH teachers! So now that program is going forward with some success. Proud of the girl!
Jennifer told me last night that everyone--right now at least--at H&O is healthy and over the quarantine time for covid. SO glad. Then Tracy told me that both soccer coaches had had to be in quarantine twice because of being exposed. So guess whose granddaughter plays soccer. sigh Oh well. Her parents will watch after anything that comes along. As a matter of fact, Lance had to take a tetanus shot and had to stay home for a day and a half from a reaction to it---not knowing what he was exposing others to! Shaking my head here. Just have to ask God to watch over all of us.
So the hens have decided that they like the middle coop for laying their eggs. YAY!!! It would be so nice if they would all decide to lay there instead of in the metal building, but that is not likely to happen. At least these nests are easy to get to for me and the hens. Now if the pullets will do their bit in a couple of months, we will have more eggs around the last of February or first of March. Can hardly wait to see the "chocolate" colored eggs. The little Black Marans are so pretty. The colors on them reflect copper, purple, blues, and silvers on top of the black feathers. A couple of them have tiny little copper ended feathers around their necks. Think they are a cross breed of Black Maran and Copper Maran. Whatever they are, they are beauties.
Have been doing that game called Hidden City on G5 games. The other one is something about Sherlock Holmes, but it has variables where a person can play a game to allow matches to release the crystals or one can look for hidden clues in rooms or areas. Either one takes some thought and some attention. But it is not easy to see the clues unless the light is just right. And they hide things is really weird places--naturally. Anyway, it keeps me out of trouble to play games.
Reading another book about the Navaho police and how they work with--more or less--other agencies when crime crosses into more than one state. Had no idea that the Indians had more jurisdiction than the Federal officers. But that only applies to the reservation areas. Interesting. But apparently they sell marijuana to those on the reservations who need pain meds and can't get them any other way. Eventually that drug will probably be legal all over the country. Not sure that it is a good thing because of what it can cause, but for some folks it is about the only pain med that works.
Still sneezing today. It could be worse. But at least no breathing problems. Just know that something is in the air. Mopped the kitchen today and noticed more dog hair had accumulated, but not quite as bad as in the living room. One of these days Connie is going to call early in the morning and discover that the dust bunnies have kidnapped me! Or she may bring over a cat to help catch the bunnies! Can see how my dogs would react to that kind of "help"! As it is, they got another rat today. So proud of them!
Sat out on the lawn swing and hand fed some of the hens. They love sunflower seeds. But if they leave any, the doves crowd around as if they had discovered a smorgasbord. Thompson chases them off as quickly as he can. And then barks at them for good measure.
It feels as if the entire world is kinda beige right now. Not much green and even the sky is not exactly blue, blue. Thought the windows needed washing, but it was the sky. NOT that the windows couldn't use a good wash! But will be glad when winter rye grass starts taking over the yard and the east lots. And have decided to plant the lamb's ear along the fence in the east lots so that it won't take over the flower bed. The goji berry bushes tried that before, so lesson learned. Sharon said Jim had to dig out the lamb's ear, so want that stuff along the fence line instead of in the yard. It might be prettier there anyway.
Really wish the neighbors would keep their puppies in the yard and repair to the places they keep getting out. Thought about offering them some chicken wire to repair the back fence, but no one even tries to keep the gate closed, so it wouldn't matter if the fence were repaired. sigh Poor babies are going to get hurt yet.
Well, dumb as dirt but not quite as good smelling. ahem. May you all rest well tonight and awake with the happiest thoughts. You are loved.
