Heavy-Duty Day.
Not sure exactly what happened, but this has been about the
busiest day lately. Let’s see now: Stephen and Caleb came, and we discussed the
new coop roof. Gave Stephen some $$ to pick up feed at TSC. Had a man, Oscar
Jackson, come to set me up with Spectrum—hoping it was the right decision. It
took over two hours to get that all done, but now my phone—same phone number—is
going to cost me $00.00 for the next year. The internet service will cost less
than what is going out now on it. So, happy about that. Then Stephen, Nikki,
and Cindy came back and he put the feed in the bins and gave me some produce
for the hens and some for me. Tickled me pink. He and one of the boys will
replace the roof this week if nothing rips, rears, or ravels. Maria will come
get her eggs tomorrow because the folks she is working for have her climbing up
and down into the attic to put away boxes of decorations not used this year.
Poor woman probably feels about like this old woman. Then the neighbor came
with a sack of dog food because both of their dogs died within a week of each
other. SO sorry for them. Losing a critter is hard. Got a message from my niece
a bit ago about some pictures she wants to send. So sweet of her. Her brother
was supposed to come today, but have not heard from him. Then the insurance
company went from one operator to a tech support and back and forth for about
an hour! Finally shut the gate, locked it, shut the hens up, have some veggies
on to cook, and sitting here wondering if food will help. Lance suggested bed
might be the best at this point, but am waiting for a call from Jennifer to see
how Gary is doing. Tomorrow the dogs see the vet, so that should be
interesting, too. Yep, something has to happen all the time!
Have just about decided that trying to manipulate dogs,
dirty floors, and the weather all come out about the same, so no need for
frustration—just accept the situation and keep the dust mop, the vacuum, and
the wet mop handy.
The new neighbors invited me over for prayer meeting and
food. Just wish it were not so difficult to explain that it is never possible
to know when a panic attack will happen—especially around more that two or
three people. One of these days, may just try to go over.
Ordered a head halter for Sylvia and was hoping it would be
here before tomorrow, but even if it is not, she will go fairly willingly if
Thompson is with her. Otherwise, Katie-bar-the-door! But those toe nails are
just terrible. Should not have waited so long, but just don’t have the strength
to walk her up and down the road on the pavement. Not sure it would help all
that much anyway. Oh well. Tomorrow is another day if we wake up in the morning.
Let us remember that it is up to God to lead us. We just have to try to be
attuned to his will. May you all—and this world—have peace since we are so
close to the sorrows around us and in our families. God be with you, dear
friends. You are loved.
