The Vegatator!

 The Vegatator!

My son-in-law would think his MIL is certifiable if he could see inside my fridge right now. Carrots, a big bag of bell peppers, a smaller bag of cucumbers, and various kinds of dressings. The old woman absolutely loves veggies! This morning two pounds of hamburger was cooked up to put in containers and another pound put in one big bowl of bowtie pasta with corn, carrots, green beans, and mushrooms with Alfredo sauce separated and put into containers for meals this week. So, meals are already planned for the week and the containers are sitting there ready to heat and eat. How’s that for preparation?

Still enjoying the clean floors from when Maria mopped for me this week. Yes, dog foot prints are available for proof of living in this house, but they don’t really bother me. My dogs are just like extra children. Think more than one person feels that way—in fact, Michelle Malay even calls her puppies her kids! And yes, she has a real son who comes to visit her, but she does not have to keep him in the yard!

Other than standing up quite a bit this morning while cooking, it seems like the body is doing better for some reason. Standing for a longer period of time has a tendency to make my back ache, but happily it is not bothering me. Wonderful!! Who knew there would be days when we could just celebrate not hurting!

Thompson just came into the office and told me that it was time to serve their last meal of the day. Then he refused to have the three little Vienna sausages that were on top of his kibble. Sylvia had zero respect for his tendency to hesitate. Guess they both got what they needed today for meals anyway. Had intended to put cottage cheese on top of their kibble this week, but Sam’s did not have the large containers of the stuff. Oh well. Thought the little sausages would work since they can hear a can of those things being opened from two or three rooms away!

Just talked to Landon about what he is doing in his classes for certification. Had to tease him about keeping his fingers out from between two pieces of metal if they are supposed to be fitted together! Right now, he is learning about the power train and the rest of the framework that carries things. Airplanes! Wow! Have always thought it would be neat to learn to fly, but putting one back together or taking it apart might be interesting if parts interested a person. It’s like those electric motors that my daddy used to make to keep a radio going without being plugged into anything. The windmills generated electricity and could either be used for pumping or for other things like lights. That kind of engineering always interested me, but it’s not like anyone around was going to teach me how to make a windmill or pump. It is funny to me that one branch of the Pollard family made a small fortune designing water pumps back on the East Coast. A Pollard water pump was a thing of beauty and stability according to Daddy. Not sure what kind of pump Granddad Pollard had on their well, but it was hooked up to the rural electric service and not a windmill. Oh well. Guess even the water well has been plowed over and removed from any part of letting water get back to the surface now on the old farm.

The neighbors’ house across the street place—the one called “Jerry’s house”—is being shown today. Maybe someone will buy it and move in and be good neighbors. Might as well hope.

This hair hanging down my back is getting longer! Noticed that one piece was as long as my keyboard was wide. Who needs a ruler when the keyboard will do? It just means that it takes longer to wash and dry. But at least it is up and “mostly” out of my face.

Got my car insurance bill in the mail this morning and got online to pay them. Have decided that an oil change and the insurance bill just go together very well. At least it will be easy to remember to have the oil changed if it comes at the same time as the insurance bill. See, some people can plan things! Still can’t remember when Josiah’s birthday is, but eventually it will get on my calendar. Know he was born in 2025, so now he is a year old. When we dropped him off at the day care place, he was not smiling, but he did not seem unhappy either. Maybe eventually we can get to know each other. Right now, betting that Rylan and Izzy are hoping to get their car back on the road again. Think a blown head gasket is one of the things the Mustang did one time. Oh well.

Rylan saw a picture of my Mustang come up on FB and the story of why it was bought. Seems my request for a horse was taken seriously that year. Got the horse even if it had four wheels! Actually, that was the most sensible thing we did that year.

Really don’t know much today—not that surprising. Did see that President Trump plans to go to Dallas for some kind of political whatsit. Really would prefer that he not go anywhere near Dallas. That place is really dangerous, and we have some dingy people down that way. Maybe not quite as bad as Houston or Austin, but still. We have already lost one president down there. Guess we will just have to pray for his protection and that this nation can settle down and maintain responsibilities for each individual. It seems to me that just about everyone expects “someone else” to take care of whatever problems come up.

So, the latest data center that is going up right across the lake in Archer County wants to dump their waste water in our Lake Wichita. It’s not like that lake is ever going to be used for drinking water, but still. It has always seemed hazardous to me. Seeing it from the air once was all it took for me to gauge that green stuff as nasty. Still, the birds fly across and look peaceful enough every time they land. We will see what happens.

Let us appreciate the calm we have right now as the firefighters try to put out the fires nearby. A great big cloud burst might cause more harm than good, but it is going to take something drastic to put out the fires in all that wooded area in Palo Pinto and Jack Counties. Pray for rain, please.

Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
