Getting It Straight!

 Getting It Straight!

This morning a young lady called to set up the appointment for some lab work. She said, “Now the surgery is on the 12th of August.” Well, sure enough, she had the date right and the old woman had it in her head that it was the 14th of August. Argh! Really don’t like being this doofless! Then Sterling called and we compared notes about just how doofless we can be! Oh my!

Last night a big black spider was in the bedroom corner on the wall. Naturally it needed to be whacked. Unsure if it actually got the full effect of being whacked, the old woman thoughtlessly tried to squat down and whack it again. Talk about horrible ouches. Fell over backwards on my butt and just sat there and whined. Got up and went to find the peppermint bug spray and sprayed that corner and under the dresser drawers to be sure the spider was at least feeling as bad as the old woman. Whew! Not sure if the surgery will correct the problems with the knee to the point that it will bend as it should, but certainly hope so.

Reading more in Tom Bradford’s Torah lessons today has included the timing of the Day of Trumpets and what should/could be the timeline for the rapture—that is, allowing those Christians to be taken up away from the horrors to come upon the earth when the Day of Atonement occurs. Know that Isaiah 56 talks about how no one considers that the one who is taken now does not have to go through the period of the troubles on earth. Now whether or not that coincides with the Day of Trumpets is anyone’s guess, but it has always seemed to me to say that the “good among men” were taken now so that they did not see the evil that would come soon. We all know that the moon and sun will be darkened, but that could be due to anything from earthquakes to the asteroids that would hit the earth. The idea that all the water would be turned to wormwood sounds like a worldwide disaster. If a volcano erupted, that could be a side effect easily. Whatever it takes, we have been forewarned.

Just went out and gathered eggs again. The girls are still producing close to a dozen eggs a day, but that one hen has a fragile egg that invariably makes a mess. Eventually that may change, but meanwhile, any egg that gets egg white on it needs to be washed and the egg placed in the fridge. Getting several of those ready to be cooked soon. And believe it or not, the old woman hardly ever eats eggs! Grayson said that he is ready for a few dozen, so maybe he will come sometime in the near future and pick up some while he visits. He may have to work while he is here, but at least it will be something different than just being at home all the time.

When the message to the kids was sent about Josiah’s birth, my niece said, “May he always be happy, healthy, and loved.” That was a truly sweet blessing to ask for. No matter what the situation may encompass with family feelings, the baby boy should receive God’s blessings and have those blessings requested for his life. So much is awkward in our lives and in the relationships with our families and their mates, but it never hurts to ask for blessings for others, especially the little ones. Just sayin’.

Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
