Momma Said:
“If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at
all.”
It is so very easy to think that what you believe or
appreciate in life is shared equally with one and all. First: that they should
actually have the same things you have is not totally the highest
priority on anyone’s scale (but pretty close). Second: the tip-top highest spot
on the scale of importance (in one way of thinking) is that the same type of thoughts
or appreciation of things be expressed in those acceptable to one’s
consideration.
What we have here is a failure to communicate! Some people
are narcissistic (think only of themselves) and are terribly bigoted:
BIGOT: a person who is
obstinately or unreasonably attached to a belief, opinion, or faction,
especially one who is prejudiced against or antagonistic toward a person or
people on the basis of their membership of a particular group:
Ok, let’s put it in Texan: When your governor says: “Make My
Day!” you either need to be able to laugh or to be a good Texan—at least in
spirit!
Today the Mayor of NYC objected to the governor of Texas and
his actions of shipping nearly four thousand illegal aliens to them. He claimed
that it is inhumane treatment. Of course, the city of NY will have to come up
with housing, meals, translators, educational specialists, doctors willing to
deal with the extra patients, plus anything else that can be considered
necessary services!
Now imagine those services times nearly four million
illegal immigrants! Imagine not being able to live on your property near the
Rio Grande because of drug runners, rapists, murderers, killers, thieves, and
those who break your heart through their needs. Texans are not without empathy,
but when taking care of other people, the expense should not fall only on the
shoulders of a few.
Can we find something nice to say?
