Religion or Relationship.
Have been reading a good book that includes so many
messages about how empty our lives are without a special relationship that is
so far beyond anything we normally consider in relationships with others. As
much as this old woman loved her husband and her children, the relationship
with my Father in heaven has proven to be the most lasting and satisfying. He
has promised me so many special moments that are to become a lifetime with Him.
Just want you to know that whatever effort it has taken to get better
acquainted with Him has been worth it. This is only the physical life we spend
here. He knows the stars and has named them and counts that they should not be
lost—they are similar to us with our relationships with our children in some
ways. And guess who matters more to Him than all those stars.
For as long as the old woman has lived, we were taught
about God. It seemed to me that some folks got their panties in a wad if a baptism
was not by immersion or the words of prayers were not just according to some
set standard. But relationships are not by a mathematical formula or some chemical
equation. He shows us the stars, the world around us, and all He created. The
days of the week—they are not as important as talking to Him and sharing our
love with Him. Is that so hard to accept?
Let us pray for one another and accept that none of us are
going to always be accepted by everyone—only by the One Who matters.
You are loved.
