Yard Work.
It IS that time of year, but this year some trees need to
be taken out and hauled off to be recycled. It’s sad, but true that Texas and
bores are hard on fruit trees. Lance said that pecans trees would have been a
better bet for growing around here. That is definitely true, but no guarantee
that they would live either. Our winds and the extremes of heat and cold can
just about kill anything other than an ornery mesquite tree. Anyway, Stephen is
coming over one day this week to cut down some more limbs and haul them off.
Ben just cut most of the grass, but his weed eater was out
of gas, so he will be back. He can do most of the front yard then if the old
woman does not get it done tomorrow. Good intentions don’t necessarily get things
done, but that is about all that gets done around here—intentions! Did get a
few things done today, but cleaning out a big tub for the dogs to wade in got
pretty stinky. Had some potting soil in it with some plants, but the roof leaked
and made it stink. Oh well. The plants that made it through the winter are
still green and ok for now.
Ordered a couple of no-flat tires for the zero turn. My
hands can’t make the air hose thing adjust to either of the things that go into
it. Getting old involves crazy fingers and toes, but at least those things can
be done once or twice and don’t need to be done again for a while. Lance put
the stapler on for me last time, but Stephen put the air nozzle on the hose for
the tires. Then he suggested the no-flat tires since those front tires are the
ones that pick up all the crud in front of them. Here’s hoping they work well.
For sure the old woman could never remove a tire by herself. Once upon a time
maybe, but not any longer. Never would have thought that getting old would be
this complicated. Sigh
Just pretty tired tonight, so will just suggest that we do
our best not to be judgmental of others. We can pray for those who are
suffering with illnesses or recovering from surgeries. God knows who needs what
better than we do. It is our job to try to remain positive no matter what goes
on in this world. Let us give our thoughts to our Father in Heaven that He can
direct us.
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
