Snap Crackle Groan and Moan.

 Snap, Crackle, Groan and Moan.

The weather has changed. Guess what else happens when the weather changes with a bit of moisture or cooler weather! Nah, if you are old enough to read this, you know. All the bones and joints sit up and notice. But right now, we can be extra thankful for that bit of rain we got. Yes, Lubbock received a downpour that just about flooded the roads, but they also got the 70 mph winds that went with it! Wowser! All we really need is about four or five inches of slow rain on this parched land and in the stock ponds. One farmer up in Arkansas, Wes Evans, said he was seeing grass that he had already assumed was dead showing up. Praise God for His mercy!

Received my electric bill statement to tell me that it has already been paid to the tune of $77.02. Not going to gripe in the least! Used a bit more gas this month drying clothes, but that is ok. Kinda wish sometimes that a clothesline was still out in the back yard. The wild birds would probably enjoy it immensely…sigh.

Washed my shower curtain today. It has to be hung up with two sets of rings because the pole it hangs on it too far from the edge of the shower. Have thought of several ways that might be changed, but never have tried to change it myself. May just have to buy another set of rings!! Oh well.

Was reading in Matthew this morning when the old woman started laughing. No, generally there is not much to laugh about in the gospels, but the story of the minister who started his service one day by asking for a show of hands of those who had read chapter 28 of Matthew and got several hands in the air just about tickled me. Folks always want to be in the crowd of the good guys.

Want to ask for some extra prayers this evening. Oh, the world is doing what it does without any regard for God, for the most part, but some folks are doing their best to help those in need where the storms wiped them off the face of our map in the Southeast. We know that God will receive the glory for their efforts, or at least we would hope so. But right now, my request is for some who are having emotional problems that seem to come along this time of the year. As much as we love those who are so close to our hearts, only God can lift them up. Whether it is too much stress with life in general, or expecting too much of one’s self, some folks just need our loving prayers. And may those friends who mourn for their parents and children be blessed with peace and calm. Life is so terribly hard sometimes when we lose someone we love. Those holes are filled with love, but it takes some time to realize that the person is still with us in those memories of love. May God comfort those who mourn or who must deal with those who cannot handle their emotional lives.

Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
