A Warning from Aberdeen.
My daughter knows that her mom is not great about checking
the weather any longer—as in checking for radar. So, earlier this afternoon, my
phone beeped. A message came from Aberdeen, Scotland with a radar picture to
tell me a storm was about to hit us. Sure enough! We got wind like gang busters
and plenty of rain from every direction plus marble sized hail for a bit there.
And then Jenn said that they would be starting their flights back home in the
morning. Think her friend staying with their dogs back in Rendon has seen quite
a bit of hail while there. Guessing that Aberdeen has not had the kind of
weather we get.
The hens were hiding under the deck but came out long enough
to get soaked. Did you know that wet feathers stink? Well, they do stink, but
the hens didn’t want to be picked up anyway. By the weekend they will have to
have their hay cleaned out and more DE put down under their roosts. Such fun.
No sense doing anything until it stops raining.
Blake came and took down a dead tree this morning, and Patty
plans to have him work over a mesquite that dropped dead branches all over the
patio during that storm. It just seems like mesquites have a tendency to throw
branches every which direction when the wind blows. Oh well. They are not much
shade trees anyway.
Got tickled at Sylvia when the storm hit. Went to the back
bathroom and watched her try to hide in the shower. That was pretty funny. Just
her nose sticking out behind the shower curtain was enough to make me laugh.
Poor baby. They really want right under me or on my feet or under my desk.
Smart placement.
Saw some pictures on FB of the water standing in the road
near Market Street United Store. It was over the wheels on one vehicle and
probably would have drowned out any smaller cars. Glad this old woman did not
need to be out in that mess. Visibility during the storm was very limited. It
looked as if the rain was coming from every direction at the same time!
Really don’t know much tonight. Got my sheets changed and
need to take the clean ones out of the dryer to fold and put away. Did manage
to take the trash to the other side of the road and clean some in the kitchen
floor. Not much sense in trying to mop until the rain stops. Between my two big
feet and the eight paws, we WILL track in mud!
Let us pray for those who are being targeted by Satan’s
hatred and ask God to protect not only our first responders but the soldiers of
Israel as well. And yes, let us pray for God’s guidance for President Trump.
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
