What Does a Father Do?
Walking in the rain with his kids, he instills a sense of
happiness in the simple things. Teaching them to be careful in the use of a
knife or a gun, he helps them to know that one’s responsibility goes much
beyond not hurting one’s self and considers what happens to those around us.
Working each and every day to the best of his ability, he gives his children
the sense of what a work ethic should be. Reading from the Bible and praying
with his family, a father teaches respect for God and for a man’s love for his
wife and children. Disciplining his children, a father teaches a sense of
responsibility. Caring for the family’s dogs, cats, and assorted critters
teaches his children that animals should be loved and cared for just as much as
any helpless creature. And being as loving and kind as is possible to his wife
teaches a man’s children how a wife and mother should be respected.
A godly father gives a woman a chance to be the mother she
needs to be. He also teaches his children to trust in the love that never
wavers. However young or old a father may be, if he follows the path set before
him by God above, that man lives the life that brings others to God the Father.
Let us be grateful that God calls Himself the Father.
