Chiggerex--the BIG One.

 Chiggerex—the BIG One.

Something outside bit me the other afternoon. Put some Chiggerex on it, but Dear Hearts, that sucker does NOT look like a mosquito bite. Whatever it is, the critter that got me should be mighty full of human irritation! Whew!

Just closed up the coop doors for these hens. They put themselves to bed, but the doors have to be closed to protect them from varmints. Patty said that she had three skunks dancing around in her driveway one night this week. Such fun! Glad they did not come up here and challenge my dogs to a duel!

The hens really do give me a good reason to get up in the mornings and a reason to watch the sunsets in the evenings. Maybe that is the way that life is supposed to be gauged—by the bedtimes of the animals around us. These two dogs sleep or nap constantly, but when they are busy doing something that matters to them, they are one hundred percent engaged in doing whatever it is. Digging a hole or chewing on a toy comes to mind. So glad that my dogs are not puppies any longer. Can’t imagine having to keep them from chewing up my new wooden furniture that Sterling has built.

Another day with nothing much accomplished. Think maybe that is going to have to become an accepted situation for just a while. Even if energy is available, the desire is not always there at the same time. Such is life when we become older.

That Senator Kennedy has written a book that the old woman wants to read/buy. That man is so funny and at the same time has more common sense than almost anyone around. Truly wish that common sense had not become one of those rare qualities that can’t be cultivated. Seeing all the garbage perpetrated upon various people by all the alphabet soup (CIA, FBI, GMO, HOHO) is just about enough to make a person throw up. When politics lead the nation in headlines instead of stories of kindnesses and compassion, we are on a downhill slope with wax under the runners! May God forgive this nation and restore her to a sense of balance.

Knowing tonight that so many folks need healing and comfort, let us pray for those whoever and wherever they may be. Let us show love as we have been loved.

Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
