Zoomies for Dogs Alone!
The temps dropped overnight and these two dogs have the
zoomies. Can guarantee that the old woman will NOT get the zoomies or even the
quick steps that get her places. Who knew that metal joints could ache!! Sterling
says he keeps a can of oil handy for his joints. Had to laugh at that one and
tell him he reminded me of the Tin Man in Wizard of Oz. But apparently, he is
not exactly up to snuff today either. When he does not go to church, it is
obvious that something is not quite right.
How dishes accumulate in the sinks when no real meals are
prepared is just beyond me, but had a few things to wash up this morning. Putting
things away is much simpler now that almost all of my cookware is in a storage
shelf unit on the east side of the kitchen. But this morning the wizard chopper
came out to prepare some raw cashews for my hens. Love that thing. Jennifer can
come up with the neatest tools for the kitchen—well, so can Lance. His latest
two gifts were plastic chopping mats and a very sharp paring knife. And
yes, the old woman cut herself with the knife.
Have a can of salmon out on the cabinet to mix up later with
some egg, pepper, and a package of these chickpea crumbs. Who knows how that
will go, but nothing like a little experimenting. Thought some breadcrumbs
were in the pantry, but they were way out of date. Did not give them to
the hens, however. Trash is sometimes the only way to go.
Made some potato soup yesterday—just a small amount. Had
some of that and then mixed veggies for supper. A package of veggies is more
than plenty for a meal. Somehow, they satisfy me without causing indigestion. You
know that Daniel knew what he was about by requesting just vegetables for their
meals when the king insisted that they eat meat and drink wine from the king’s
table. As long as one is able to digest the veggies, it beats most kinds of
meat as sustenance. Besides, who can afford to eat beef!
Got a text from Michelle Malay last night saying “thank you.”
Guess they got the AC units installed last night after Mara got home. Dumb ol’
woman had the ice machine that Michelle loaned me sitting ready to go back but
walked right by it when Mara was taking the wagon out the front door. Sigh.
Dooflessness gets deeper every day around here!
No sense in worrying about the situation in Gaza and Israel.
What will happen is not much different than what was already in progress.
Still, it is disappointing that the remaining bodies have not been returned to
their families. And now it will just be more deaths on either side. We have
heard: they cry peace, peace and safety. But we know that it will not be. The
Day of the Lord will come, but until then we are to “prove all things; hold
fast that which is good.” (I Thes. 5)
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
