History Lessons.
George Santana said in 1905 that those who cannot remember
the past are condemned to repeat it. While some of us have truly begun to worry
about forgetfulness and the possibility of Altheimer’s, we have yet to begin to
work against the stupidity of not teaching our children about the very real facts
of this century and even the past beginning in the 1900s.
Questioned about what 9-11 means, some young people have no
idea that America was attacked and the Twin Towers brought down during the
second Bush administration. The who, how many, where, and why are beyond these
young people. The fact that one of the main terrorists had been released from
Israel due to our demands is not even a part of the story! So if the nation of
Israel today determines that terrorists in their custody today will NOT be
released, we should keep our mouths shut!
Then there are the Jewish people up north that are willing
to elect a Communist representative. Even a cursory examination of history should
suffice to prevent such an election by anyone who follows the history of
communism. Ignorance is NOT bliss, Dear Hearts! No matter what wonderful
promises have been made by communist dictators (Castro or any other South
American dictator), the end results are that the people have no rights, no
freedoms, and usually nothing to eat!
If it were not for America, most of Europe right now would
be speaking German and living in a form of hell. No, Europe is not perfect at the
moment either, but at least food is grown, people have homes or some property,
usually they are able to vote freely for whomever they think might be more
trustworthy, and they are able to express their opinions. But even Europeans
have forgotten their history.
It is one thing for our children not to be able to read or
write in cursive or tell time on an analog clock, but truly the newest
generation needs to be able to compare these days with even one hundred years
of history. May we do our best to assure them that this country has been
blessed because of God’s mercy and His work for us. We have a place yet to be
seen in the future. Let us trust in God to bring us forward in His plans.
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
