Whatcha Think Ya Know.

 Whatcha Think Ya Know.

Sometimes we think we know something or someone—or even a place—and it turns out we had one impression while the facts were totally different. That does not always mean we were mistaken in what we thought, but it does mean that we were not maybe as well versed in facts as we could have been. Some of us listen to folks talk and just store little factoids in the back of our minds. For instance, we might think that someone was a totally great person and find out that the person was anything but great. Or we might think that someone was all about truthfulness and find out that we held onto a totally mistaken impression. Now this is not to include those folks who hide behind a public façade like politicians. We all have a pretty good idea that politicians say one thing and do another opposite thing. Or they say one thing and slide around the truth in some other way. Guess the Bible has a good reason for telling us to let our nay be nay and our yay be yay. We all like to see our opinions reflected in those we admire, so some of us think the world of a particular person because it appears that they are the kind of person we think we are—or what we would like to think we are. To get down to the nitty gritty, how many of us really examine what we think we know about others? Impressions count—sometimes. But the little comments we hear and have in the back of our minds will come back eventually to seal the deal—was that comment made with love or self-interest?

Each year or decade of my life has shown me some new things about myself and others. My parents were teenagers when they started having children. And neither of them had the best examples of unconditional love from a mother. My husband’s mother and father had not planned to have a child when he happened. And unconditional love never happened for him from that origin. Yet he loved with his whole heart and gave himself as well as he could to me and to his children. He became a great example of a grandfather—loving and giving himself to his grands. My nephew Danny Pollard says that to this day he tries to emulate PawPaw Leland in the way he loved his grands. See, we all have pictures in our minds of how some folks are—whether or not others see these people in the same manner. The grands of these men will never know them by the facts of their lives unless we tell them the facts. And then OUR perception of those facts may be somewhat different than what they really were. We are swayed by our love or by our resentments or other emotions. We are human just as they were.

If we are to understand love at all, we have to see the way God sees us—with a picture of HIS love before him in the person of Jesus Christ. Nevermind all the trials of childhood or living with the terrors of becoming a responsible person. Our history changes as we become aligned with that picture God has before Him. Unconditional love.

One of the things a dear person tells me at times is that we have to take care of ourselves before we can really help others. To a great extent, that is the truth. But it is simply too easy to be a narcissistic, self-centered person. Considering others before ourselves is a learned trait. It takes some practice, dear hearts. Critters sometimes come closer to helping others unconditionally than people do. In the back of our minds, we consider what our actions will do to the “me” that is involved. It never ceases to amaze me that creatures of one species will adopt a creature of another species—even prey animals adopted by predators—when we think of those adoptions as totally against the nature of the creatures involved. We are a little like that. Maybe a rush of endorphins is involved when a mother picks up a strange child to help it and love on it. Or to adopt it. But progressive love that endures to give the other creature the protection it needs, that is the kind of love that we strive for—or should emulate as conscious people.

Have you seen the creatures that have been cruelly abused and misused that still seem capable of a loving attitude after they are rescued? Some of the people in this ol’ world will be like that when they are rescued from this world’s insanity. With eight billion people in the world today, finding love should not be so terribly difficult if God directs us. And it should also not be so terribly difficult to show love in the many opportunities available to us.

Today let us look beyond what we think we know about others or this world. Let us look at the world—this temporary place—and see what is planned around His love.

Rest well, my friends. We know love.

Warmth.

 Warmth.

Discovered that this “shawl” Lance and family gave me has a snap on the front to help it stay in place. Nice, and nice and warm! The house is almost 30 degrees warmer inside than it is currently outside, but then, the wind is not blowing a gale. That makes a big difference.

Thompson decided that he needed to get up and bark about something outside which was the predecessor to going outside to take care of whatever business he had, so here it is after 1 a.m. and the old woman is up. Of course, someone ate a big piece of coconut pie (thank you very much, United Supermarkets) and therefore that someone has indigestion. Yep, those carbs can mess a person up rather quickly. Even sweet potatoes don’t cause that much of a problem. Won’t even think about the ingredients in that pie.

Here it is 9:37 a.m. and have already made an appointment to see Dr. Blackwell on Thursday afternoon, have two dogs fed and lying down on their happy places while covered with snuggly blankets, and have the curtains pulled back to watch the rain dribble down. It is still 40 degrees outside, so not bad enough to gripe about. The house is a toasty 70 degrees here in the living room. Saw one of those targeted posts on FB about bringing in your pets during this cold weather. The picture showed a lady sitting in her big chair reading a book while her horse lay on the couch! Thought maybe Brenda Jones would get a kick out of that one. Of course, she has more than one horse and the sheep probably would not need a couch, but still, it is a funny idea.

Read a blog post by Julie Chambers who grew up with my children. Sounds as if she is quite ill, but she was never specific about what was going on. Think some prayers are definitely needed. She lost her husband some years back to brain cancer. She has struggled to make a living and take care of her two children and her home ever since. It is hard to make it on one income, and the military is not just real helpful after the fact even if it were possible to show that the illness was caused by exposure to chemicals in Iraq or wherever it was he served. Let’s just say a prayer for Julie that God will give her the comfort of His presence in her life.

It hasn’t become any colder throughout the day even during the cold rain that came down, but it FEELS wet and cold all over the place. Went out to check on the feed situation and found that the doves had not eaten all the little pieces of hen mash. Threw out some scratch and watched the hens act as if they had been starved for days! Silly hens. One of the feed bins must have a leak and has some scratch caked up in it. Eventually will have to empty it and put a different bin in the front coop where no rain can get to it. Had a tarp over it, but guess it was a dollar late and an hour short or whatever. [Yes, know that saying is reversed.]

Have some beef bits to put in the slow cooker for tomorrow’s beef stew. Think it is going to contain some rice, carrots, and whatever else comes to mind. As much as cold weather hurts my body, the food during cold weather starts out being good. It just gets old eating soups and that sort of thing before long. So different from summer food, the weather makes food palatable long before it freezes.

These two dogs believe that the treat jar needs to be very handy today. This is the second time they have been demanding treats! Usually, it is just Sylvia demanding treats, but other than wanting his backside brushed, this time Thompson wanted treats as well.

Sharon Dickerson made the nicest little cloth bowl thing that is just perfect for holding my soup bowl. It can set on the desk and not be in the way and still hold in the heat. Thanks, dear sister!

Cleaning up the fence line the other day included picking up some heavy paper which included a map of the new construction across on the State Hospital grounds. It shows the sewer lines and other things, but did not see the tunnels shown on the map like the ones Donny used to have. Eventually they will need to find someone to map those areas out again unless they don’t care if a few “patients” decide to leave by the tunnels. Can’t imagine anyone going down there with all the snakes and other vermin, but at least they are not sewer lines.

Don’t know anything different today. No text messages from Henrietta. Shaking head here. Just have to pray for Erin and Lesli.

Pray for peace in this world. It gets more tense in every area of our country with shootings that do not make any sense whatsoever. Let us ask for protection for our families and for those who have to go out among the kind of folks who drive by and shoot at others just as the mood suits them. Crazy!

Rest well, my friends. You are loved.

One of Those Days.

 One of Those Days.

Ok, you know that we have to develop patience. It does not come with the little ones when they are born. The parents learn patience AFTER the baby is born, right? Well, today has been one to try my patience, and the babies are all grown and able to deal with their own little episodes of infuriating impatience. Went to an appointment for 8:20 that actually got me back inside the office about 9:30. Watched all the cute little tech women in green running between doorways looking as if they semi-knew what they were doing. Sat in the chair and had to answer questions that were never asked before; then we did every test plus some. Then the tech sat there and “visited” with me until another tech could get free to do one more test. FINALLY, the eye doctor came in and gave me a real fine headache with his bright, enhanced crystal lights in my eyes. He did say that the pressure was up higher than normal (does one’s temper add to eye pressure?), but he was not ready to do anything about it. The cataract is just sitting there waiting to do nothing. The scar tissue in the other eye is not a problem. So, no changes until he checks it again in July. Meanwhile, the old woman was definitely ready to get out of there.

Patty had me take Roxie to the vet yesterday, and it was considered an “emergency” visit, so that cost her $200 right out of the box. She called them this morning and the vet said that the blood work did not show any infection, etc. Patty told her how the dog had been sitting and not running around as normally. So, the vet said she would check her anal glands. It is now 3 p.m. and the vet is still in interviews with another vet. She is supposed to call before 5 p.m. Argh. That means going up there after five when everyone and his cousin will be on that stretch of road trying to get home from work. Such fun!

Got a call from Mark Ogle this afternoon. He wanted me to go to Waurika to eat at Bill’s Catfish. But Lowry Mayo had told him that he thought the old woman wasn’t feeling good. Finally told Mark that traveling just didn’t suit me. Here in town is ok. Can always just head back home at my convenience. Definitely not going somewhere with someone else driving. When the plumbing all works, everything is fine. When it does not, the old woman stays at home. And if you don’t understand, you just have not been there yet.

My friend Robin Christian posted that her son Joe has had a heart attack (Friday of last week), and he will need to have a valve replaced in his heart. Happen to know what that surgery is all about. It is harder than just a simple bypass. They actually have to open the heart itself up to replace a valve. This is truly “open-heart” surgery. Please pray for Joe and his family. Know that Robin must truly be concerned for him. A mother is always on edge when a child needs help. This will take good surgeons and God’s help. Thank you ahead of time for your prayers.

Talked to my nephew Erin a bit ago. His mother is still breathing and the heart is still beating. The doctor is just flabbergasted. They told us last week that when a Kennedy ulcer opened up, that the patient never lasted more than a couple of days. Well, guess what! Anne has proven them wrong. This is one of those situations where—in my opinion—death needs a hand from man. Would not want my children to have to sit and wait for weeks for the old woman to expire. That is just too hard on everyone involved. Of course, many folks who have family with Alzheimer’s disease may feel that they have lost their parent or whoever long before death arrives. Honestly not sure that it is right to use extreme means to keep those alive. Feeding tubes and such are the types of things that my children KNOW that would tick me off in my right mind. It’s up to them if my mind is gone, but being a veggie does not appeal to me.

Have been wanting a banana split or something of that nature. No, it is not on that diet that Dr. Blackwell suggested. In fact, it is definitely not something that will help me keep the weight off or my blood sugar down. Sigh. So red bell pepper dipped into the spinach artichoke dip will have to do. Such is life.

Have had a few laughs at the messes on FB. We all seem to have an “attitude” right now. Flowers and flutterbys help, but the really good ones include expressing some of those attitudes from the hen house to the corral. Even my hens have had the do-it-up dusty attitudes. They don’t usually fuss with one another, but this morning they all seemed to have the “zoomies.” They took off flying out of the hen house and went half way across the west lot while squawking and otherwise making noise. Then the geese on the lake started flying over with their squeaky wing joints and honks. It was a very vocal performance both on the ground and in the air!

Have quietly noticed the usual political garbage. It stinks enough to need the stuff to be covered up in a very large kitty box. D.C. and most of the bigger cities need to find a good litter box that is self-cleaning. Thinking that term limits might stop some of that bad odor. Also, anyone who makes a fortune while in office has to be pretty suspect in my book. If Paul Pulaski can sell all the post offices, then we need to see what his wife chose to do to the mail. Hmm. Not sure if it is old folks like me who despise trying to shop or something else, but our local post office here in WF had to have special-call drivers come in at five the other morning to haul packages out to be delivered from Amazon. Don’t remember why President Trump thought that Amazon was taking advantage of the postal service, but for sure they are keeping the little men in short blue pants busy.

Tomorrow is Veterans Day. Of all the battles fought and all the men, women, horses, dogs, and birds that died, we should take at least a couple of minutes to pause and appreciate what they sacrificed for our freedoms. Slowly we have given up too many of those freedoms. We have to have permission to fence our land, permission to plant trees, permission to have animals, and just permission to keep our homes safe. Sitting here shaking my head and thinking about how the laws have changed. The old woman would never be able to deal with an HOA or even the rules of an assisted living place. Some of us are just contrary. Holding up my hand and waving it. Another day to think about freedoms.

Let us pray for peace, for healing of those who are ill, for quiet and calm in our cities and homes, for safety for all, but especially safety for our first responders and law enforcement officers. May God heal this nation!

Rest well, my friends. You know—you are loved.

Fried Squash!

 Fried Squash!

Umm. Next to fresh cucumbers right out of the garden in one hand and a fresh tomato in the other hand, not much out there is as good as fried squash with a few onions fried up with the slices. Now, that is just one old woman’s opinion, but such is how it is around here with opinions. The dogs hardly ever disagree with me about such things. They know who fills up the feed bowls and the water container.

Took Patty’s little bushy Roxie to the vet’s office this morning. She did not want to wait any longer about having her seen, so she had to pay $200 right off the get-go for an “emergency” visit. Only two women in there other than the lady vet, so not sure just how busy they were, but apparently they need some more helpers. Just my guess. Anyway, having critters means taking care of them when they change their habits suddenly. Not sure just why this little dog was sitting down strangely. Thought maybe she was full of you know what, but that did not seem to be the problem. And they have to “sign” their territory every time they go out. Kinda hoping it is not a urinary tract infection or something of that nature. Wish critters could tell us where it hurts.

Have a plate of sliced cucumbers, some slices of red bell pepper, and a splot of spinach-artichoke spread. Love it when the cucumbers are crispy. Using the pepper slices to load the cucumbers works well, too. Think my mom would have liked this stuff. She loved fresh veggies, too. Just wish it were possible to grow things more easily around here. Between the heat and the dry weather, it is nearly impossible. But that is the story all over the country right now. Well, that is about to change somewhat this week as the temperatures go down. Sterling said it is supposed to get in the 20s up there in Northwest Arkansas. Glad he is up there and not me. Here it is the wind that makes the difference in whether we freeze or fry!

My computer was offline this morning. Seems the new router had gone back to factory settings for some reason. Joy to the world. One of the techs from Santa Rosa/Pinnacle was able to reset it from the office. Felt almost cut off from the world without my computer! Doesn’t take long to spoil an old woman, huh.

Saw the latest forecast for Florida. They just can’t seem to catch a break! If alligators and big snakes were not enough, let’s just flood everything or blow it away again! FEMA can’t get caught up until they are going to have to do it all over again. Have a feeling the insurance companies will leave Florida high and dry—or wet and flooded. Not enough trailers or government tents to even begin to house the folks without insurance, and the ones insured are not all that much better off.

Walked around pulling up khaki weed, but have SO much more to do. Have a bunch of weeds that annoy me as well, but not sure that much energy exists around here. The dogs and the hens are not much help, ya see. And the dadgummed raccoon is just a mess! Put the trap on the deck and scooched it between two things to keep it from turning around. Patty reminded me that they are just like little kids with those handy little fingers. Sure enough. He or she got the bait from the top side. Argh! Sterling suggested peanut butter, but haven’t decided how to make it stay inside the area where it would spring the trap. Smarter animal than the old woman. Sigh

Have to go see Dr. Kelly about my eyes in the morning. Think we might as well do away with the tri-focals and just have long distance and up close. Can’t get the bottom part to focus. Maybe he will know what to do with my inability to see well. Distances have never been a problem, and now the distance to the computer is not a problem. My arms are long enough that my reading is easier without that bottom section. We will see—maybe.

It seems to me that this week is just flying by. It has also been quite warm. That will change, too. Not looking forward to really cold weather, but it does not bother me if it is just cooler. The wind keeps blowing to move everything around, so we can expect the temperatures to flow from warm to cool to plum cold pretty soon. This is Texas. Nothing is certain about our weather except maybe the uncertainty.

Have not heard from Patty this afternoon, so maybe Roxie will be staying at the vet’s overnight. Glad Patty has enough money to pay for this kind of thing. Boarding a dog is expensive, but having to be treated by a vet is exorbitant. Kinda like people and doctors.

Tired this afternoon. The dogs have been waking me up at night and barking about something. May have some strange things going on in the neighborhood, but as long as they are on the other side of the fence, will just keep myself over here and quiet. Like to have peace and quiet—for the entire neighborhood!

Let us pray for peace. So much is going on right now that we all have a tendency to feel uncertain. No one in our society has answers to all—or any—of the problems. Well, some may SAY that they have answers, but that is like what comes out of the backside of a bull. Yep, and it stinks.

Rest well, my friends. You are loved.

A Beautiful Day!

 A Beautiful Day!

It is 71 degrees out there, and a very tiny breeze moving so that the propeller on my plane is as still as the leaves on the trees. Only the birds are moving enough to cause any kind of air movement. And THIS is Texas! Amazing! The sun is shining and the hens are pecking at whatever it is that they find to eat. They seem pretty happy in my estimation.

Patty said our neighborhood raccoon set off her camera a couple of times last night. It managed to get one piece of the bait intended for it, but maybe the secondary latch held the door open on the trap. Will try again tonight. Never have used a trap like this before, so probably did not do something right. Still not sure what will happen if it is trapped. Hmm. Haul it out to Highway 79 almost to Archer City maybe? Have to be able to trap it first. Sitting here laughing at myself.

Sterling called and said that his friend George has come down with Covid. The doctor thinks that Sterling is probably immune. Here’s hoping! He won’t take a flu shot, and that stuff is enough to put a person down for the count!

Walked the place the other day and looked for khaki plants. Found some that have already made seeds! Argh! Will get out tomorrow if the old bones are still pliable enough and see if most of the plants can be removed. Nothing like weeds and stickers to make life miserable. Probably need to put down some kind of weed killer, but hate to mess with the soil or the earthworms’ homes. Don’t care about a beautiful lawn or anything of that nature, but prefer to not have knee-high weeds. Right now, the hens have been making “Marine” holes. That is like foxholes that the military would consider as good places to duck down. The hens get out there and dig up a hole, dust off in the dirt, trade holes with another hen, and then the dogs take over and see if they can strike oil or something. Nothing like it. Walking in my yard is an experience—a risky business.

Found out today that Pinnacle (the internet service used in this house) has been charging me a bit over $10 a month for the “use” of their router. Looked up some router prices online and found that they are pretty expensive, but the company will continue to charge me for this router until it is returned to them. It would be cheaper in the long run to buy one on Amazon. As soon as my son-in-law is available to tell me what to get, we will be doing something different. Argh!

Read today that all of us old fuddy duddies will be getting that “stimulus” check sometime this next year. How nice. We paid in all this money over the years whether or not we wanted to and had to pay tax on it as well. Now they have decided we could probably use a little bit of it back. Marvelous, just marvelous. [Can you hear that tone of voice?]

The dogs were startled—well, the old woman, too—the other morning when something THUNKED against the front window. A young female cardinal was lying there on the front walkway, pretty stunned. Brought her in and held her until she was warmed up and breathing easy. She messed up the front of my tee-shirt, but oh well. Took her back outside and set her on the arm of the bench. Touched her little head and spoke to her about flying. A little reddish blur took off toward the side lot! She was good to go. Sometimes a little comfort is all any of us need.

Have to haul the trash bin across the road here in a minute. Trash truck comes early on Tuesday and Friday mornings. The driver’s name is Duane, and he is very nice. He always waves. The world has certainly changed from the days when we used to burn our trash in a barrel in the back yard. Can’t imagine that kind of burning in a city this large now. Whew! What a mess.

Erin and Lesli have been trying to work on all the things that have to be done to settle things as quickly as possible after Anne finally leaves this world. It has been so very sad to watch this situation. Let’s just say that if anyone had a choice, this is not the way to go.

Have an appointment to see an eye doctor by the name of Kelly on Thursday. Dr. White has taken care of us for years, but she retired this year. Pretty sure this man will do whatever needs to be done, but that business of dilating one’s eyes is never fun. It always feels as if the world has gone blurry. As long as the old woman can get back home without running over anyone, we will be just fine.

Every time the internet flips another page, something about aliens comes up. Dear Hearts, we are all aliens. Look at what is in the dirt around us. Microbes, mold, active dust particles. We are just bigger particles of the same. The only difference is the breath of God that He gave us. A spirit that is in man. NOT that man is spirit, but you can see that man has a spirit. God connects to us just as electricity connects across the sky—spirit to spirit. Let’s hold on to that connection!

Pray for peace. You are loved.

Days That Run Together.

 Days That Run Together.

Really have to think about what day it is at times. Lance drove me over to Market Street and lifted the heavy stuff. Still, it reminded me of taking the kids to the grocery store when they were little. My basket ended up with a few strange items like Mediterranean Bean Bowl with garbanzo beans in it. And then there is the Lotus Biscoff Crunchy Cookie Butter. Yes, it is pretty good. Then he tried the cheese that his mom thinks is great, but he kinda turned up his lip at the Stilton cheese with apricots. Oh well. Whatever it takes. But then we tried to remember what day of the week it is: he has been on vacation this week and just returned from Corpus Christi. Think he was really glad to get home, but then he went to the nursing home to see his Auntie Anne before he came here. He visited with Lesli and Erin, so that was worth the trip. They have not seen each other for several years.

Dr. Parkey took the staples out of Anne’s hip and leg where they did the surgery to put it back together. It won’t heal, of course, but at least maybe it won’t be as uncomfortable. The doctor and nurses keep thinking she can’t possibly live more than a couple of days longer, but she inherited some very stubborn genes. When she was lucid the other day—whichever day that was—she wanted to see and talk to her entire family. We all went over for her and stayed until late. Anyway, maybe it is just a good thing that her two kids were with her this week. Lesli has to return to Illinois soon, and my kids are in two different places this next week. At least Erin can stay with her since he took a leave of absence.

It feels as if the weather is about to change. Joints are stiff and hurting a bit more than usual. Best barometer around, ya know!

Put a pork butt on to cook a bit ago. That will keep me and the dogs fed this next week. Have some fresh veggies, but was griping about the price of ONE tomato. Yes, it was a large tomato, but they are so very expensive and do not really taste like anything we ever grew on the farm. Need to go down to the farmers’ market and get some real tomatoes.

Jennifer spent the night one day this week—night before last maybe. Honestly! Anyway, she went over and visited with Erin before she came home one day. Then he came over the next morning, and we all went to Jimmy’s Egg for breakfast. Kinda like that place. Enjoyed being with Jennifer and visiting with Erin, too.

Got a sweet card from Sharon Dickerson with a pair of angel wings in it. The crocheted wings were so precious. Need to send her a message that they arrived and that they were appreciated. Some of the Dickerson family are pretty good to stay in touch with each other even in this day and age. And Sharon and Sue are two of the best to stay in touch. Can remember back years ago that my children thought it was the greatest thing to get a card from their great-grandmother Pollard. She always had some sweet saying for them for whatever the occasion was. She got to watch Lance graduate from high school and then wrote about it in the Clay County Leader (“THE” newspaper). Lance had a high fever and still walked the stage that day! He took all those advanced courses that they now give credit for college, but back then it was just noted that the kids had taken advanced courses. Oh well. He was a good student.

Think my grands like the things they get whenever the old woman gets on a tear and starts sending things. Found out today that the candy sent to daughter-in-law was definitely not worth sending. Oh well. She will like the flowers that are coming this month.

Got a couple of eggs today—none yesterday. Lance put the alfalfa in the coop for me and dumped the chicken feed in a can. SO happy to have the heavy things like that finished. Getting too lazy to scoop up portions before trying to empty the sacks.

Walked the east lots this morning and looked for the khaki grass sprouts. Will have to get out the pokey tool and get them removed before they get any bigger. Hoping to keep them out of the yard this year. Despise those stickers!

A text on my phone reminded me—at SIX a.m.—that the old woman had to be at the hospital by 8 o’clock—"come fifteen minutes early for the paper work!” Was home by 8:30, so that was a no-brainer. Now Dr. Blackwell can’t say that anything else needs to be done this year. The bones may not be dense (except for my head), but the other parts have always been dense. Big whoop! Developed muscles across my body from the time we began to climb trees. Mom used to say that her children were part ape! Pretty close!

The load of clothes in the dryer is finished, so will have to get my backside off of this office chair and get ‘er done! Just will finish letting all of you know: Jacob got to go back home from the hospital in Little Rock. Don’t think they ever decided what happened. Madison Hodges lost the kidney and has to heal up and continue going to Dallas three days a week for dialysis until she is healed and can do it here. Madison Pollard and her husband are back at home from the hospital. Guess they are doing pretty well under the circumstances. Their vet cremated their three dogs for them. Kind person! Prayers for Anne’s children and grands are still needed. Anne knows she is going away, but she does not like “sad words.” Trying to think of happier thoughts for all of us.

Pray for peace. We all need it. Meanwhile, you know, you are loved.

A Family Gathering.

 A Family Gathering.

Just a brief update for all of you: Anne became quite lucid today and wanted her family around her. So, her daughter Lesli texted all of us. Spent quite a bit of the day with them and left the nursing home around six. Her son Erin spent the morning with me yesterday, and he asked Jennifer to come visit with him this evening. She will be over here later this evening. Anne’s cousin Vickie should be over at Henrietta by now, and her best friend Beverly came this afternoon to be with her for a while. Tilak and Anne’s three grandsons and her dog Snoop spent part of the day with her as well this morning. My son Lance is in Corpus and plans to be over in Henrietta in the morning. The nurses have been so very good to Anne and her family. They truly care. But Jennifer and Lesli both agreed that they never wanted to spend another day in that nursing home. Can’t imagine why—only our family doesn’t have any more folks who will ever need to be in Clay County again for that service. Will post tomorrow if and when this situation is finished.

Please pray for peace.
