Clarkson Farms.
Jennifer has done it again! She got me started on watching
Jeremy Clarkson’s program on farming in England. It is hilarious and yet so
realistically drastic when it comes to the fact that farmers are all so very
reliant on the weather and markets to make a living. The program is on Amazon
Prime, so it is not like watching TV with commercials, but the old woman has
truly enjoyed watching a few episodes of it this afternoon.
Made a trip to Wally World today and found some gardening
gloves and several other things that were needed around here. Something is
always coming up even if it is just bleach, milk, and some kind of dip to go
with chips. Yes, junk food. Oh well. Thought about Jerry Hobbs and his dietary
habits while shopping. He used to get these huge bags of sugar-coated cereal.
Yep, got a big Ziplock bag of cereal. Miss that kid. Know his mom misses him
even more.
One of Lance’s kids refinished Grandmother Pollard’s cedar
chest. He sent pictures of it. Absolutely looked as if it were varnished with
boat varnish because of the deep shine! That had to have taken some real work.
The old woman could not sleep last night, so am hoping that
tonight will be better. Not going to do much tomorrow in the way of work, but
it is supposed to rain again on Thursday! Not sure the mowers could even begin
to cut the grass because everything out there is so soppy wet. Planted a few
things this morning, but am pretty sure that getting the feed put into the feed
bin was the only heavy-duty job that got finished. Just don’t feel like moving
too much or starting any projects. This month can go right ahead and be just as
wet as it wants to be. If the new planters get here, they may or may not get
put together shortly thereafter. Honestly believe that the older my body
becomes, the slower things work! MIGHT get the Roundup sprayed over the fence
along the back of this place to try to eliminate the beggar lice/stick tite
weeds. Even that depends on the weather—and the wind drift.
Honestly don’t know much this afternoon. My hens are happy
and scratching around on any and everything out back, but they are going to
have to stay out back now that some flowers have been planted out front. Dug up
some Bermuda grass and found humongous worms, but have not the least
inclination to let the girls scratch around out front. Those pretty flowers are
not cheap!
Let us pray for those who need to be healed. Little Zeke Ambrosius
needs complete healing from all the seizures that he had. His parents ask that
we ask for complete healing for him. This has to be hard on them. A beautiful,
healthy little guy just totally messed up by the medications and his reaction
to those drugs! We all know those who need healing, but we also know that our entire
world needs to be healed. Let us ask God for peace and healing of this world.
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
