Turn ON That LIGHT!
Often the old woman does not turn on lights in the house
when walking from one room to another, but Thompson has a habit of lying in the
hallway where he could trip me. Yes, my dance steps around here include the doggy
two-step. But late evening yesterday was a bit different. No dog in the
hallway, but something made me turn on the light in the hall. Duh! A danged
rabbit body lay on the floor between the hall and the kitchen. Yes, one of the
dogs made a kill and proudly left it to be found there. Rolling eyes here.
Today has been a trip! Donna Reeves mentioned that the rain
forecast was for 5%. Well, doggies! It came a downpour and washed me down Kemp
on my way home from the dentist office. Thunder boomers, lightning, crash bangs
and all were accompanied by some hail, thank you very much! Glad we only had a
five percent chance of rain. We might all still be floating around here!!
Enjoyed the visit with the Route 66 Group. Missed some
folks, but that is how life goes. We all sat there and semi-laughed about the “shoot
out at the OK Corral.” Don’t think any of us will forget that man who caused
two other guys in the dining room to pull their guns after he stood up and
screamed at us to get quiet! He had some personal problems, Dear Hearts! But
Tricia, the waitress, took care of getting him out of there before they had to
call the police, so there’s that. Anyway, took my kazoo today and started in on
You Are My Sunshine before the ladies next to me suggested that we might start
a riot with that one. Wow! And no one appreciated my “music.” Giggling. Had to
thank Susan for giving Roger the idea!
Was sad to hear that one sister and one dear friend have
either slipped off the radar of dementia into the next realm of unreality or
simply given up on life. We know that these things happen, but we always hope
that strokes, falls, ill health, and such as that will miss the ones we love.
It is just hard when we see others give up on life. May God give us the benefit
of His love to the very end.
A bit ago, a trip to Patty’s to take her little Roxie some
lamb and rice dog food had me searching for the keys used to open the doors
after a quick trip outside. Both a CAT key and my house key are on this holder,
but they are not to be found. Stuff like this just drives me wild! Looked in
the clothes hamper, on all the key hangers, on the cabinets, the table, the
desks . . . ARGH! Eventually they may show up, but meanwhile the old woman will
wonder and be concerned about their location!
The thunder storm upset Roxie so much that she refused to
eat her din-upper. But handed a few bites of my dogs’ dry dog food, she
crunched right on as if they were wonderful bites! Anyway, maybe this dog food
will take care of her digestive problems. Thinking back to the days when we had
zero dog food for our dogs. Mom made extra gravy and biscuits! Dad killed a
rabbit once in a while for our dogs! Times certainly have changed.
The “news” is as sobering as ever, and the politics are as putrid
as ever! May God speed the day that His kingdom and His justice is seen upon
the face of this earth!
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
