Cereal and Milk!

 Cereal and Milk!

Cereal and milk for breakfast and cereal and milk for supper with laziness in between. Yes, deboned the chicken for the dogs and helped John unload the ten bales of hay from Mary’s truck, but just don’t have the energy to do much else. Some days are just like that. At least was able to send eggs home with John and Mary.

We got some rain that fell suddenly and left us hoping for much more all night. Anything wet right now can’t hurt!

Visited with Patty for a bit and then Stephen came over to bring the welded handle for the older wagon. He was telling me about the new grocery store coming to town that might accidentally have better prices. He also told me that Walmart plans to start charging us for using their teller-less check outs. Guess you might think that the old woman would just accept that sort of charge. Guess again. Will start patronizing Aldi’s entirely if that sort of thing continues.

The hens decided to hide their eggs inside a roll of chicken wire out in the long coop. About eight eggs came out of that house yesterday! Silly hens. Used some of that roll of wire to lay over a fire ant nest so poison could be put down to kill the ants. Really despise those ants! Have to be extra careful with the poison because of the hens. The dogs are not that dumb.

Looks as if Thompson is going to have to have a new dog bed—one like my mattress. His old bones need the softness plus support—just like the old woman. He can still manage to jump on my bed, so it will wait, but he will undoubtedly need his own soon. Sad to have to buy special beds for critters, but then, they are loved just as much as we can possibly give them. Beds and all!

Roger called today to see if maybe he could take me to the wake for Jane Monday afternoon. Right now, it is all this old woman can do to keep her back straight and her head up. September makes me think of Hanan. And other things. Told Stephen never to think of doing the final step ever again! It hurts others so very much. Plus, it just is not a reasonable resolution. No matter what kind of bovine feces other people throw at us, it washes off if we can’t duck fast enough. Life is for living, not for throwing away.

You know, God gave us His mercy through Jesus Christ. We owe our future, our present to His goodness and love. Gratitude is what we need to work on every day, even the days that start out so sad we want to cry. Stupid things are spoken by those who can’t put themselves in your place, but remember that only God knows our heart. Let God be our judge in all things. Work on loving kindnesses toward others first and foremost.

Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
