Any MORE to Add to THIS Day?
Had groceries delivered this morning because the old woman
did not want to lift and haul stuff from the truck to inside the house. Well, the
“driver” of the delivery car was thoroughly ticked off and just dropped my
groceries on the front sidewalk. When asked to put them on the porch, she left
most of them on the sidewalk where she dropped them and put the two cases of
water on the porch. Well, joy to the world! So, step up and down six or seven
times to go get the groceries off the walkway and bring them inside. Have
thought about telling United what this made me want to do. Can’t decide if they
need to be told about this driver’s attitude or if it is just MY attitude that
sucks. But, ya know, she got a tip from me along with whatever they pay her for
her work. But she was griping that they take money out of her tips. Seems to
me, if you don’t like a job as badly as she did, it’s time to get a different
job.
My grocery order was mostly correct, but asked for some of
those flavored drinks that don’t contain sugar. The Signature brand is not
terribly expensive, but one of the flavors was not on the shelf, and the grocer
who picked my stuff off the shelves substituted “tonic” water for the flavored
kind. Really!! Bleah.
Went to the feed store to get loaded up on feed. They were
plum out of the good pecans, but got some that were called “Trash” pecans. They
are spicy! One of the kids will like those. Anyway, parked the truck in the
carport and walked across the grass to the front of the house. Lo and behold,
water was on the water meter. Got a leak. Called the plumbers and will see them
sometime this evening—maybe. Then came inside and was washing my hands in the
lavatory and bumped the shelf next to the lavatory and knocked down a big bottle
of lotion. It landed on the thing that plugs the drain and that thing would not
come back up. Now the plumbers have one more thing to do. Shaking my head and
feeling plum disgusted.
Just went outside to see how things are going along. Told
the plumber to feel free to cuss the idiot who planted that tree (me). The
entire pipe broke off down in the dirt a way. We may have to have an entirely
new line to the house. Lord help us! Maybe the plumber can at least restore
water to the house tonight.
Tried a new sweater on Thompson this morning. It was too
large. Asked Jenn if her Lab would wear it, but she said Luna acts as if she is
in trouble if they put something on her like that. Poor pupper. Now there are
two sweaters for large dogs sitting around here. Katy said that she did not
like to use sweaters on the dogs she cares for. Can understand that. The dog
has to be willing to let you dress it. And then the sweater has to come off if
it gets wet. Oh well. Maybe someone will need a dog sweater or two.
It's good to know that God is on our side—at our backs, in
front, alongside, and all around. He has the strength and will to do what is
best for us. That is all we need to ask, and then give Him praise! Praise God
that He helps us in all situations.
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
