Finished Cooking.
Finally got the last three pounds of ground turkey baked and
bagged. Haven’t got much else accomplished, but since no one is standing around
griping about it, will just blow it off. Maybe tomorrow the living room will
get cleaned and rearranged.
Barbara, Shona’s mom, is going back to Plainview this
weekend. She has friends there and got a relatively inexpensive place to stay. She
said she did not understand how Patty and the old woman could be happy just
staying at home all the time. Think it might depend on how we grew up and how
much our families mixed with people. My parents were not much at visiting
others unless they were family. That’s pretty much how things have worked out
with me. Jennifer and Gary mingle pretty well, but Lance is not a mingler. Think
he could stack up books and be happy from now on. Maybe some walking in the
woods and camping would keep him happy. Lewis was not fond of camping, and it
definitely was not my thing! Too many spiders, snakes, and assorted critters!
The ground was covered in frost this morning. If anything
was growing any taller than a few inches, it would have been more like ice
spears! Think Thompson got a sticker in his right paw. And my vision is not
good enough to see anything in that paw. If it is still bothering him tomorrow,
might have to see the vet. Have tried hard to keep the stickers out of the side
lots, but invariably some grow around the sides near the fence.
Was talking to Sterling today about having a prayer list. He
said he has one but does not know how to remove people from his. Mine is on
paper, so no biggie. Besides, most of those folks need ongoing prayers.
Finished reading the second book of Timothy. Paul said that
in the end times there would be a great falling away. Even back then a couple
of “ministers” were claiming that the resurrection had already taken place. Paul
wanted them removed so that they would not have any chance to teach falsehoods.
Guess there will always be those who think the church should buy their
salvation and God’s favor. Nope, just doesn’t work that way. And isn’t it
wonderful that God loved us before we were even born. He planned on what He wanted
us to do ahead of time. That is just mind-boggling! He gave us certain
situations and expected us to do His will even when we had no idea that it was
His idea! Neat!
Let us continue to pray for those like Henrietta Arguien and
her daughter who lost their homes. I wish Henrietta and her daughter and family
could come here, but have no idea what her daughter’s husband does for work. At
least housing and the cost of living is more reasonable here than in CA. We can
joke about not wanting all those folks coming to Texas, but it might make more
sense than trying to wait until the infrastructure could be replaced in
Altadena or there abouts. So, just pray that they will be able to make good
decisions.
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
