The Google Queen!
Got a call first thing this morning from the Google queen—my
sister-in-law! Jacqui had read the blog and found Katy’s Place for me in
Petrolia. Now it is a matter of calling the woman and finding out what she
needs, if anything. Can’t imagine NOT needing something for critters.
Just went out and stapled a couple of long beach towels to
the front coop door. That should allow enough light and still prevent the cold
wind from hurting the hens in that coop. For sure, these girls have made their
places on their roosts as their own. No changing them to another coop! If one
of the metal doors has to be closed, there should still be enough light for
them to get down in the morning. They would not get down this morning until the
doors were opened. Apparently the Hanakuh lights and the Christmas rooster were
just not enough light. Oh well.
Whooo. Not that much has been accomplished, but at least a
few things are completed. Now to “goof off” until bedtime. Still waiting for
Dr. Blackwell to come get some eggs. Not too sure about the weather forecast.
It is SO nice outside right now. Doesn’t seem possible for the forecast to
include snow. Oh well.
Sent an email to Katy’s Dog Place at ilovemutts@aol.com. Now it is up to her to
get back to me about what they need. They have a post office box there in
Petrolia, too. Anyway, we will see.
Took the sleepers off both dogs after Sylvia decided to go
roll in hers! Ack! Dirty dog! Now to get them back into the sleepers. It is not
that easy to do.
There is a semi-large hole in my front flower bed. Looks as
if a pig or armadillo might have attacked it! Can’t imagine a hen making that
spot without the dogs seeing her. They bark at everything they see, so that
would have been included. Oh well.
We need to pray for the folks in L.A. and south where the
smoke is making businesses close because of the air quality. Not just the
businesses, but folks with breathing issues are suffering. Simply cannot
imagine.
Now then, some kind of stomach virus is making the rounds.
Danny Pollard said that Rachelle is the sickest he has ever seen in the 18
years they have been married. Apparently, this is making the rounds in the
schools as well. Let us pray that none of the babies or old folks get this
mess. We all have a tendency to dehydrate rather quickly. So, watch your fluid
intake and drink REAL water, not simply sodas or tea. Meanwhile, avoid crowds
and eating out or being around many people. Not covid bad, but bad enough if
you are older!
The sunshine is making me feel as if spring can’t be too far
off. Know better, but you know how it is—wishful thinking. So glad God invented
seasons.
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
