Have no clue why my body is so grumpy feeling. Don't want to do ANY thing. Just washed the few dishes and cleaned the drains in the sink. Picked up some more eggs, and now sitting here hoping that BillyeRuth gets eggs today. She said the girls did not lay any yesterday! Not sure exactly why they did not lay, but they may be stressed for lack of green grass, different kind of feed, or an open enclosure instead of their usual closed in quarters. Birds are really not that much different from the rest of us. Changes upset them. Have tried to think of a good way for her to put them with her girls, but then, they might not go inside where her girls roost. They are accustomed to roosts well off the floor which are reached by a wooden racked ladder. Picture a board with little bars on it all the way up on a slope of about 45 degrees or less. They are climbers.
Went to Spa Bella and let Angela Poirot cut most of my hair off. Should not need a haircut again for at least four months. This has been my third haircut this year! She said there was a LOT of hair on my head. Can't think of a better place for it!
The wind has blown pretty hard today. And it has not been too bad weather wise even though the temperature has been up there. Tomorrow is supposed to be pretty cool with the high up to 75 and the low tomorrow night at 44. Not bad at all, but feel for those folks in the snow belt. Not sure when they normally start getting snow, but think it is starting to give the folks in Michigan some flurries already. But at least they don't have to worry about lava flows and lakes inside of volcanoes. Africa and Hawaii both have some concerns along those lines. And then the flooding in China has made boulders fall on the highways in some places. Think we can be happy to just have Texas weather right now.
Talking to the young lady cutting my hair, and we discussed foods from hunting trips. Her family eats everything they shoot: deer and maybe turkeys. Not sure about hogs. But her dad is a fisherman and keeps them supplied with fish all year long. Then she told me about his chickens. Oh boy! We had a good conversation about chickens, of course. She did not know what breed some of the were and showed me pictures. He has some Barred Rocks. Sweet little hens, but now he wants to get a rooster and have his own baby chicks. Wish it had occurred to me to tell her about BR's roosters and what they did to her hens, etc. Oh well.
My dogs are having hissy fits. Hoping it is not a sign that someone is coming over. Fat chance. Ah, but this guy was not a bad visitor. Like him and his wife: John and Mary Rhoads. Sent a dahlia blossom and some eggs home with him. They are a sweet couple. BR knows John so he got to hear about the roosters!
Some folks from other countries were being critical of Americans and their long lines for voting. But it just makes me happy to think that people care enough about our nation to stand patiently and vote. No matter which way one votes, it is for your beliefs--right or wrong. We don't have polls in every back alley of the country, so it is going to take longer to get things done. Meanwhile, we can just pray that God will bless this nation with whatever is best for us.
Started a new project in stained glass class. Brought home the "Eggs" sign with the hen on it and will try to put the glaze on it this week. Have three plaques to glaze right now. Hoping the glaze works well for me. Think that is the neatest way to make something stay on a board! The new project, however, is an old truck--a Ford in my estimation, but Terry said hers was an International! That made me laugh. Granddad Pollard had an old International. No one knew how to work on it. So he finally had to give up and go buy a Ford. Good trucks.
Jerry just left. He had to borrow a pipe wrench for something, so now my wrench is back in the tool box where it belongs. Really don't like for him to root around in the workshop so let him use the one kept in the house. Oh well. The day is nearly over and nothing worse than being grumpy has occurred. Did hear a shot and an immediate car horn this morning. Could have been an airbag going off maybe, but called the police and told them anyway. Saw them go by on the road, but who knows what caused the noise. Could it be there is a nosy old woman in the neighborhood? Nah. Nothing like that. [great big grin]
If you want to know if you have any little scratches or skinned places on your hands, just apply hand sanitizer. And if they were not already raw, just apply it enough times and your hands will let you know about that by peeling at least one layer of skin. Be so glad when we can stop using that stuff every time we walk out the door. Gripe, moan, groan. But staying healthy matters. sigh
Have no plans for tomorrow. Need to take a couple of milk jars over and visit with Cindy Jones, but will have to find out when classes will be finished or when she will have time to sit down for a few minutes. Nikki home schools her boys, so her mom teaches. Very patient woman! But homeschooling works for them. Just about anything is better than public school in my opinion. So much garbage going on and stupid testing that makes no sense whatsoever.
Maybe a movie might be nice about now. Something relaxing and not too scary, but a mystery! Love trying to figure out who-dun-its. But then, those hidden figures and other pictures on FB make me try hard to find things quickly. They can be tricky. Have one that gets a short visit every day: Hidden City. Fun or frustration. Can be either.
May you all find something to make you smile and enjoy life. You are loved.
