A Decent Temperature.

 A Decent Temperature.

No AC needed today. It is sixty-three degrees outside with enough moisture to make the dead grass stick to my shoes. We still need real rain.

Had a blog post written and accidentally deleted it. Talk about irritating. And now Jennifer called to check on me because she did not see a blog posted. How predictable is an old woman, you ask? Do dogs chase squirrels?

Love talking to my girl. She has some of the funniest stories. She told me about some movie that she and Gary had watched together about this bell hop who was supposed to be watching some kids. The kids kept complaining about the stink in the room. So, when Jenn talked to Gary last night, he said the hotel room smelled horrible. She asked if he had looked under the bed for the dead hooker. He promised he was NOT going to look.

While on the phone with Jenn, she said that Anne had fallen and that they took her to the hospital here in WF. She has a cracked femur that they pinned. So sorry she has had this kind of thing happen to her. Wish Erin had let me know what was going on, but maybe he did not think it was a good idea. Who knows? She had just been confused before, but not in pain. Now she will have pain all over again.

Jenn said that Aunt Caroline was still having nausea even now after this surgery. That is worrisome, so Jenn wants her to see her doctor or a gastroenterologist on Monday. Stuff like that always feels scary to me because of what happened to Lewis and his tumor that they could have found with a simple test. Doctors have so very many patients and so much going on that it is not surprising that they might overlook the simple things.

Sylvia is in the kitchen nibbling again. Honestly! She is gaining weight and will have to go on a diet at this rate. Not sure if it is treats or her second helping (leftover from Thompson) that is getting her waistline out of whack.

No eggs today. Oh well. It could be worse. At least they are only dropping their feathers all over the yard and not in my house. Have never seen so many black feathers!

We all see the same headlines and the pictures of the devastation from the hurricane. Let us pray for peace, for protection from the repercussions of this disaster, for those who are in the war zones all over the world. Let us ask God’s mercy upon mankind that we can stop threatening one another.

Rest tonight, my friends, and look for joy tomorrow. You are loved.
