NOT Rain, but Moisture.
Woke up to see the neighbors’ “yard” of cement covered with
wet stuff. Slept so hard that even if the weather notice came across my phone,
the old woman just noticed slightly and went right back to sleep. Those stupid
pills really work at times. Glad Dr. Blackwell knows what she is doing.
Sitting here drinking spiced chai and thinking about ordering
some for a grandson who likes teas. This stuff is just delightful. It only has
a little bit of caffeine in it, too.
These two dogs are “sharing” a fluffy bed and playing big
mouth. That is their favorite game. Silly and sweet. They ate the Wuffles right
down and now want a treat. Can’t think the Wuffle is all that great or they
would ask for that instead. Oh well. What do any of us know about the tastebuds
of dogs?
Hoping that Michelle Malay makes it here today to pick up
her eggs and a couple of things for her dogs. Have two sweaters that will fit
her Bloodhound Maggie Mae and an extra-large dog bed for her as well. It is a
hand-me-down from Max, Donny and Patty’s older dog who has already gone over
the rain bow bridge.
Really need to take Sylvia to PETS clinic to get her nails
trimmed and see a vet so we can have another prescription for Bravecto. She
does not really like to travel in the truck without Thompson, but the
two of them are simply too much for my ability to handle. Maybe tomorrow, but
will have to see if an appointment is necessary.
Ordered a couple of shoe/boot spoons with long handles.
Landon got one for Lewis years ago, but it was plastic and was broken from the
tip so it couldn’t be used. Hoping this will work for me so it won’t be so
difficult to slip into the “Sloggers” that Jennifer got for me to wear to the
chicken house.
Plan to order another copy of a book about Revelation. Had
one and gave it away, but that is one book of the Bible that takes some deep
thinking and research. Until it comes, may go back and write up a synopsis of the
main points of things from Acts through Jude. That should keep me busy and out
of trouble. HA! Will have to call Sterling and get the name of that author we
were following.
Will see Katy (Brooks) and give her this load of stuff for
the dogs tomorrow. If any of you in this area have dog beds, old towels
or blankets, would be happy to get them to her for the dogs she rescues. These
are older or special needs dogs that no one would adopt. She has a heart of
gold to take care of those creatures.
Well, Katy is going to help me tomorrow to get Sylvia to the
vet. Sylvia is a little to hard for me to lift when she has trouble getting in
the backseat of the truck. If Katy has a muzzle, we can do it together. But
have to take Roxie to see the vet at Colonial Park first thing in the morning.
Such fun. Getting everything done that really has to be done in a day can be a
real challenge!
It makes me glad that the old body, as creaky as it may be,
still has enough get up and go to get a few things done to my satisfaction. May
never ride another horse or raise another batch of baby chicks, but even so,
the efforts have been worth it. Good memories. Guess planting flower seeds will
have to be about the best an old woman can do at this age.
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
