Back to Genesis.
Reading The Torah by Tom Bradford is keeping me busy.
Talking to Sterling today, we talked about trying to watch it on YouTube as
opposed to reading the lessons. Neither of us can do the YouTube thing. The
pages are broad across my computer, so it is more difficult to read than a
normal notebook page. Oh well. Sterling has a book that Mom and Dad gave him
years ago called Daniel the Prophet by M. B. DeHaan. It is too expensive
to buy on Amazon, so will borrow his and get it back to him later. Have really
enjoyed the Torah lessons, but it takes patience. Beth Graf says she watches
the videos and enjoys them greatly because the man looks just like her own
daddy did. Go figure.
Rylan told me over the weekend that his son was supposed to
be born on July 22, but the girl’s mother is having the baby induced the week
before because she has an out-of-town conference the week of the 22nd
and would not be able to be there. Can’t tell you what that makes me think
about! Of course, to her parents, it is all Rylan’s fault that their daughter
is pregnant. Shaking my head here. What is done is done, and what matters is the
health of mother and child. Just my opinion.
Patty called me this morning and asked if the old woman were
satisfied with the amount of rain we have received. Honestly am ready for some
sunshine and higher temps. Rain is great almost any time, but it would be nice
to be able to clean the floors and expect them to stay clean for more than 30
minutes! Besides all that, we can’t exactly plant anything in the middle of a
hail storm!
The hens have been scratching around in every space in the
yard and a couple have jumped the gates to work on the flower beds out front. Planting
anything out there would require chicken wire to be used to keep them from
scratching it up. Oh well. Maybe it will get done.
Have to go to the feed store tomorrow and then over on
Barnett Road to get an x-ray of the stupid knee. Maybe we can figure out if it
is bones grinding on each other or something else. Ready for it to stop hurting
completely. Unloading feed into the new wagon is much easier than the little
trailer used before now. The old one was too small and too close to the ground.
A higher wagon requires much less drag on the body and on the legs.
Enjoyed a nice conversation with my granddaughter last
night. She really seems to have her head on straight. Can’t say that the old
woman was anything close to her level of maturity at that age. She will be 21 the
23rd of July. And she will finish her master’s degree in accounting by
the end of next summer. Super smart!
Mariellen Rose seems to have a great attitude from what she
has posted on FB. That little lady is just amazing! But she also is good to let
others help her. Actually, she does not have a whole lot of choice! Leukemia is
a horror! That is what my nephew Danny has. He has to do chemo every other
Wednesday. Can’t imagine!
Looking forward to seeing Sterling and Jacqui toward the
middle of this month. They will be here around Passover, not that they would
notice. But that following week is Easter—and that will get their
attention. April just reminds me to plant things and watch the weather. Then
too, Lewis asked me to marry him in April of 1968. Good memories. Miss him
terribly.
Whether or not you like our president and company, we need
to pray for President Trump and those who are helping him. God has given us
someone who is not trying to bilk our nation and is trying to use the blessings
to make us able to stand on our own. Be kind and loving in whatever you do or
say to others.
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
