Under Warranty!

 Under Warranty!

My dear friend Roger Thonton came today and took the battery off my truck, and we went to Walmart to see about getting a new one or whatever it took to get me mobile again. Turned out the battery was bad and it was under warranty. No cost! Could not have done this without Roger or someone to know how to disconnect and reconnect everything. And then, too, the little metal rod that keeps the hood up has disappeared from in the front under the hood, so we had to Southern engineer a rod to hold the hood up while Roger worked. He only skinned one place on his hand. It could have been worse, but just so glad that he had the tools and the “smarts” to be able to remove and then put the new battery on.

A quick trip to the feed store got $50 worth of feed loaded into the back of the truck. Brought that home and put into the bins before running up to Barnett Road and getting my favorite knee x-rayed. The results should be on my chart by late this evening or in the morning. Hope it is not bone on bone, but if it is, so be it.

Speaking of knees, my friend Michelle Malay ended up in United Regional yesterday with fluid on her heart, possible blood clots, and needing oxygen. Please pray for her that they can get her oxygen levels up and the fluid retention settled down. It is one thing to deal with the pain, but this mess could cause other problems in her life as well.

My hens decided that they needed to take care of the front yard while the old woman was going back and forth with the wagon full of feed. It looks as if someone has been out there with a fine-tooth comb or at least a yard rake. Of course, the sidewalk needs to be swept of all the stuff that they managed to scratch out of the grass. Oh well. Doesn’t look any worse than my living room floor!!

Having something to do all day has kept me from reading much, but at least visiting with Roger was fun. He was showing me the games he plays on his phone, including Wordle. Apparently, he is pretty good with that game, but he said that the one called connections is much harder. These people that play games all the time and can stay concentrated on them amaze me. Carla Beard is a Wordle player, but then she plays pickleball, too. Think the hens and keeping up with the bluebonnets is enough for me. Well, that and reading.

Have not had time to check if the world has fallen apart today, so will assume that no one has shot the moon out of the sky or tilted the axis of the earth overnight. For right now, my attention span is restricted to letting God handle everything. The old woman has neither mechanical ability or social consciousness. The sight of frost out on the clover is enough enjoyment for today.

Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
