Different Dog, Different Vet.
Was getting out of the shower this morning when Patty called
to ask me to take Roxie to the vet. Little dogs can get sick sometimes pretty
quickly, but her problem was just being uncomfortable with anal glands. Not a
very nice situation for public discussion, maybe, but just as important to the
dog as anything else. Anyway, Colonial Park took care of the situation and, we
returned rather quickly. Sat and talked and read the note that Katy sent Patty
thanking her for the many things she had sent for all the dogs that needed to
be adopted or helped. Seems they took in two mother dogs that immediately had
their pups. Some of the dogs are terrified of leashes and collars, so the
harnesses Patty sent were very helpful to those dogs that could be adopted.
They have to be acclimated to wearing a harness and being socialized. Saw a
picture of a most beautiful pit bull the other day that was such a healthy-looking
dog. Afraid that it might have been kidnapped for the purpose of a fight ring.
Just horrified that people do that kind of thing. But if that dog got away from
the dog-nappers, he will be very hesitant to let anyone catch him. May God
bless the critters. They don’t deserve to be abused or neglected.
Other than being a bit cooler today, the weather has not
been bad. Not sure why my body aches today, but maybe it is the weather and more
changes. Rubbing on some stuff on my lower back and neck has helped, but not
nearly as much as the Rx that Dr. Blackwell prescribed. Just don’t like to take
meds all the time.
Will have enough eggs for my kids by this weekend so that
they can both have a couple of cartons of 18. Can’t believe how expensive those
things have become! Still need to go get some oyster shell and one more bag of
lay mash. Not cheap, but not about to let my critters get hungry. Will also
have to get another head or two of cabbage this coming week. Eventually the
grass will take off and grow, but it is still pretty sparse currently.
Was so happy with the news Patty shared with me about OK
Concrete saying their attorneys would send her something to say she did not owe
them anything. Looked up her friend Roy on FB and found out that he knows my nephew,
Danny. How funny! Danny is a big ol’ guy, but is as sweet as a person could be.
Very different attitude from a biker person. Anyway, I still feel happy about
it today. Probably should not have said anything on FB about the crook who took
advantage of her, but it still ticks me off.
Patty and the old woman were talking about this business of
children being encouraged to believe that they are one sex or the other—despite
the biological situations. Reading what God says in His word, He is the
one who makes us what we are—whatever that is. It is not my problem if a young
man prefers to be a girl or vice versa. As long as one’s strength is not used
to take advantage of another person, what we think of ourselves seems pretty immaterial.
God made me pretty stubborn. Now being obnoxious might not have been His
intention, but can’t imagine not being argumentative in my opinions. We are what
we are.
Let us show our respect for others even when we don’t agree
with their opinions. But also let us remember that we have just as much right
to an opinion as any other doofless person! May God help us be the people of
character that He would have us to be.
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
