NUTELLA and Breadsticks!
Judie Brunson just left and brought by a “slice” of pizza
that was about a fourth of an entire pizza pie! She also made me take four
containers of Nutella with little breadsticks. WOW! It was very sweet, but also
very tasty. Anyway, so nice to visit shortly with her and to commiserate over
our knees. Hers is the right knee also. Sooner or later, guess Dr. Blackwell
will get me to go have this thing x-rayed and see what is going on. It just is
so much better to hurt this badly still. Sigh.
With the weather we had today, Jenn and Gary could not come
up and do what we had planned. Such is life. The hens will continue to lay
eggs, however, so they can get some in a few weeks. Meanwhile, John and Mary
Rhoads have eggs and John will probably take some down with him when he goes to
see about his brother. Please pray for John’s safe trip and for John’s brother’s
health. He has some kind of lung cancer.
Talked to Lance today and got to see Codi’s puppies. The one
they chose is named Bella—lots of whitish grey with spots all over. Cute. Codi
looks pretty healthy, too. Sweet girl will have to be spade as soon as the pups
can be weaned. No more puppies for her. Really wish everyone with a dog could
do that and prevent all the unhomed animals! It hurts to think of those
critters being out on the streets and not loved.
We have had at least two inches of rain here. Honestly
sounded a lot like hail several times. But it would have been the small size
and did not pile up. Jenn said they had one heck of a hail at her house so that
it looked as if snow had accumulated in the corners. New roof coming right up!
More mess!
When John came by to pick up the eggs, he brought some
alfalfa leaves and stems for the girls and a big 50 lb sack of layer pellets.
Managed to get it in the house and inside the door, but that is as far as the
old woman could go. Lance suggested just taking a big scoop of it out each time
a trip to the coops was needed rather than trying to drag it out otherwise.
Smart thinking! Knew he was good for something! LOL [LOL means laugh out loud,
not lots of love, in case you wondered.]
Cooked chicken for the dogs this morning, but will still
need to make a trip up to United to get a big sack of chicken quarters probably
as soon as the weather clears either tomorrow or the next day. Mary Rhoads sent
some cabbage for the hens, and they have done a good job of eating it. They
will eat just about anything that does not eat them first. The dogs are much
more particular. Oh well.
Thinking today that God has so blessed me that nothing else
is really needed. Friends, family, neighbors, and sweet critters are about all
the goodness needed right now. Oh, it would be great to have a better
understanding of what God wants and plans, but we are told that even the angels
wait to see what will unfold. May we just all be thankful for the many
blessings of life.
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
