Marching to a Different Drummer.

 Marching to a Different Drummer.

Yes, the wind blew March right into the windows, the sand, the weeds, and what’s left of the trees. It’s so dry that any rain would have to go to West Texas to make a mist! So, the weather forecast is for showers soon. Good luck, West Texas!

At least the sun has shone today. And the phone has rung a couple of times. Spoke with Michelle Malay who has to wait—unless there is a cancellation—until March 28 to get her new knee put in place. Prayers for comfort and healing would certainly be welcome around that time and before. Her in-laws are staying long enough that she will have someone at the house to handle the dogs until she is able to get around better.

Talked to number one child who was replacing some kind of fluid in his side mirrors. Go figure. He watched a YouTube video to learn how to do it. These kids are amazing!! The stupid button on top of my tea kettle fell inside the kettle this morning. The old woman could not pour water from the kettle because the steam went straight up. Need to find some kind of glue to make that stupid little button stay on top of the lid. Hmm. Meanwhile, number one was about to install a new garage door opener. Sheeesh!

Patty sounded about as enthused over her Frito chili pie as if it had been made by Roxie. Bleah, in other words. It takes a special kind of good meat to make real chili in my estimation. But then, chili is not my favorite meat dish. Not sure just what would be a “good” meat. Fish—of some kinds—or maybe just good bacon. Oh well. Not like any of us will go hungry tomorrow. Cabbage soup is better than beef sometimes. Or baked potato with all the good stuffings!

Seeing several pictures of Lowry Mayo and Dianne’s family who have moved from Israel to Texas. Think a few more have yet to make it here. They have twins to raise right now along with some pre-teens. Looks as if the grands will have their hands full and enjoy every minute of it. Look forward to hearing Lowry tell us about his family additions when we have the next meeting of the Route 66 Group—our school buddies from elementary through graduation.

Lance sent us pictures of our granddaughter’s dog Codi and all her puppies. Would just love to sit down in that big puddle of puppies and play with them. Nothing as neat as smelling puppy breath—even though my theory is that the smell only lasts as long as the mother dog is taking care of them. Still, they are just so very sweet.

Whatever else is going on—wherever, this much is true: For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) In this was revealed the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. (1John: 4:9)

Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
