Lights and Electricity?
The wind is doing us up a number, so will be saving this
often and hoping to get online to get it posted. No guarantees.
Patty called me this morning to tell me that her friend Roy
had had some words with Pat O’Hara about his having her billed for gravel for
this road. OK Concrete had sent her a certified notice of a lien put against
her home for an unpaid bill by Industrial Asphalt that O’Hara said she did not
pay. He had already overcharged her one thousand six hundred dollars for the
job, but this was a bit much. She was fit to be tied, and the old woman felt
horrible for encouraging her to get the road worked on in the first place. Down
near her gate was nearly impassable because of the trenches the city trash
truck had made, but that certainly was not improved to the tune of $2,600.
Anyway, Patty’s friend Roy let O’Hara know that HE was not some little ol’ sick
lady, and if the bill was not resolved and marked paid without a lien or anything
else for Patty to worry about, he (Roy) would be meeting up with O’Hara to do
some reconciliation work! Yay, Roy! No more problems. Praise God for biker men
with lots of hair, muscles, and mean looks!
This wind has been pretty rough. The electricity went out
for just a short while earlier. Let’s pray that the wind settles down and the
trees are not blown down all over the city. The rain was wonderful, but the
wind and cold just hurt.
Jennifer called to say that they got a tornado alert this
morning at five, so she was already tired by noon. At least they did not have
to stay in the cellar all night. AND they have a cellar where they could put
bunks if they needed to.
Sharon Dickerson said that they had high winds down in
Shreveport, too. She and their critters huddled down in one place to try to
protect themselves, but they have LOTS of trees. No one can predict where a
tree will fall or fly. Guess that is true just about everywhere.
Trying to remember to drink water today. Jenn said she had
been feeling bad and then realized she had not been drinking enough water. Easy
to forget to do that one essential thing. Staying hydrated matters.
The storms are rolling all over the country, so this evening
let us pray for those who are threatened by hail, high winds, fires, and such.
We won’t gripe here in North Central Texas if we get a bunch more rain, as that
inch and a half in the rain gauge this morning might help, but it won’t get us
the soaking the ground really needs. Meanwhile, let us pray for peace and
common sense. Still thinking of those who were flooded out or burned out in NC,
CA, TN, and other states. May God bless those who are ill and those whose lives
have been totally uprooted by disasters.
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
