Indecision Being Dangerous!
The squirrel that has difficulty making up its mind about
which way to run across the road has nothing on me today. The rotisserie
chicken and Black Forest Torte at United, Chicken Express, or a trip to
WallyWorld to pick up another file crate and walk by the bakery and deli in
that store? Then again, the timing is more important since the Feed and Garden
Store doesn’t open until 9:30 in the morning. Maybe by then my mind will be
made up. Sigh. Two sacks of feed can be picked up AFTER stopping by WallyWorld—but
the feed can’t sit there in the back of the truck while the old woman shops. Oh
well. Just go eat your salad, Woman! You and the squirrels!
The weather may be a bit less like hell on earth tomorrow. The
high for the next two days is supposed to be less than 100 degrees. Early this morning,
with a bit of overcast, other than feeling as if we were slapped in the face by
a wet sponge, we could almost enjoy being outside for a little bit. Patty and
Roxy got to be outside with me on the patio while Thompson grumped about not
being able to go through the hole in the fence. He had to be reminded more than
once to leave the fence alone. But after returning home, the old woman put down
a couple of stakes in the chicken wire that was supposed to mend that hole.
Dogs!
Thompson’s new collar arrived this morning. The thing came
with a tiny screw driver type thing for the teeny tiny screw things that held
on the face of the Apple air tag. It is supposed to be waterproof if the thing
is put together correctly. Here’s hoping. Had to really squint to see what the
things were supposed to be, but it reminded me that Laisha B. had to program my
phone for me because the print on the destructions was too tiny to read. Not
sure that even a magnifying glass would have helped. Doesn’t matter how many
languages are printed on those sheets, if they can’t be read, they don’t help
much.
Don’t think the AC has been repaired across the road yet. Feel
for those folks. Digging around in the workshop a bit ago and found one of
those cool air blowers that was purchased last year. Still don’t remember exactly
how they are supposed to be touched to get them to blow iced air out over the
little plastic thingy. Oh well. Found another couple of fans out there anyway.
Storing things always means that the dirt and dust has to be blown off or
washed off, but at least things still work. Having a small room to keep cool
helps, too. The AC in the office keeps this room cooler than any other room.
Patty reminded me—again—this morning that any news right now—no
matter the source—is going to be somewhat slanted. What a person should be able
to do is totally ignore everything around us for a couple or four months. Just
the earthquakes, the volcanoes, the landslides, and the toppling walls should
be enough without wondering about what anyone says about someone else!! At
least we don’t live in West Texas where the houses are being shaken off their
foundations!! Man’s greed cannot cause volcanoes—well, maybe not anyway. Who
knows! But for sure we need to get a sack of salt ready for any statements made
online or otherwise. What we can know for sure is that God’s Word is true. It
isn’t slanted, warped, or otherwise twisted unless some church finds a way to
get people to listen to hatred labeled as religion. Remind me to tell you
someday about the student who told me that kindnesses were not the purview of
Christians only.
Good news from one Ambrosius family member about little
Zeke. He seems to be doing better and has a very good chance of having his
vision as good as a child his own age by the time he starts school! Please
continue to pray for him and his family.
Meanwhile, my granddaughter and her boyfriend have covid—along
with several other men who work in the same shop as Damien. At least the
quarantine business has changed completely as far as folks having to stay at
home and away from others. Seems like, if we are going to get it, it will
happen—or not.
Let us remember those who mourn and those whose lives are
changing so drastically in this age. Nothing can be taken for granted.
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
