Pick a Room.

 Pick a Room.

Maybe in this heat, it is easier to just pick a room and try to keep that ONE room cool. Forget trying to work in the entire house or even to being able to enjoy looking out the front windows or the back deck. Just pick a room! Any room. And then just cool that one space. Dear Hearts, not even sitting right in front of an AC unit is all that helpful right now. About the nicest thing we had today was some wind. Oh well.

Cleaned out the dogs’ water trough today and set the hose to refill it. Yep. Shouldn’t leave anything cooking in the kitchen or the water running lest the old woman walk off and forget about it. Yep, she did. The hens did not care. Who knows what the water bill will be like, but it stands to reason that more water was used today. Sigh.

Bought some cheap steak the other day and found it to be tough enough to exercise the new teeth and the old jaws. Stopped by Wally World and bought some meat tenderizer the other day and powdered that meat thoroughly. Cooked it this morning and found it quite a bit more easily eaten. Amazing what some natural chemicals such as those found in papaya will do.

Read an article about “singularity” today. That is the idea that mankind will be able to use nanotechnology and integrate AI and human intelligence together. Since some of us have not been too impressed by human intelligence and the irresponsibility of so many, not sure that boosting thought power by any means will actually help mankind to be better at anything worthwhile. Without moral focus based on kindness and consideration for others, what good will multiples of brain power do? It would be wonderful if the elements of greed and dominance were eliminated or removed from our focus, but since the beginning of history, such has never been possible. The idea of a universal benefit or a universal income situation may sound wonderful, but most of mankind bases its sense of self on the work we do. Just meet someone new and one of the first questions—especially among men—“what do you do for a living” will be heard. Oh well. The future is never going to be held in my hands. And personally, no more thought than the old woman can spare for such ideas, it is probably a good thing. Faith, trust, love. Those are the things worth thinking about for me. Those are promised. The future, no matter how mankind looks at it, is pretty well predetermined. The end of the story will see a new Jerusalem. An unending kingdom.

May your days be filled with comfort and joy even if the temperature gets a bit unreasonable.

Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
