Warranties and Other Hogwash!

Warranties and Other Hogwash!

When a company sells a warranty on a product, they should have a dedicated phone line to that department with someone to answer the phone. Even if the line is not open 24 hours a day seven days a week, a company that does not return phone calls is as good as telling us that the warranty is worthless. The last few refrigerated AC units bought around here were labeled “Comfort.” They also make a big unit for central air conditioning called Smart Comfort by International Comfort Products. It’s one thing for a small unit to go out in one’s house, but the central air unit should be of greater concern. Not sure where the units—any of them—are made, but when the coil goes out on the big ones, it is a major problem for a homeowner. Will be looking at what a person can do about having warranty work and parts replaced now since seeing what is happening to my neighbors. Texas, at 108 degrees, is just too danged hot not to have a good AC!

Again, the storms on the East Coast are hurting people and their homes and livelihoods. Feel so sorry for the ones that live in Florida! Have not heard if the folks around Houston ever got the electricity back up, but those along the East Coast are going to be in the same bucket until the hurricanes blow out. Let us pray for those who have to try to reconnect those lines! The heat here is just about enough to make a person want to crawl into the refrigerator! Think it is only going to be about 95 to 97 on Friday and Saturday of this week. Even so, it hurts to be this hot!

Put some water features—little fountains—in the chicken bowls. The birds and hens drank every single drop of water in one pan that had a fountain in it. Had to refill it a bit ago and hear the birds out there now carrying on about the water! Wish it were easier to have some flowing water for all of them.

The pollen count keeps climbing and the old woman keeps sneezing. Had an interesting headache this morning, but after sneezing several times, felt much better. Patty said she has sinus drainage to go with the pollen, too. Such fun!

Made some stuff to go with a few pieces of the pork chops today. Cooked up mushrooms, onion, celery and the little pieces of meat in a pan and then made a corn starch gravy out of it. Poured that over mashed ‘tators for my meal. The dogs had their kibble and some pork chop meat. It doesn’t take too much to make us happy around here. Got all the mess cleaned up and put away and read some more mystery books. Other than putting out feed, gathering eggs, and adding water under the deck and in the water bowls, this old woman is staying inside! Too dadgummed hot to walk out in this sizzling heat!

My friend Michelle’s brother-in-law is having a time with his health. I never met him, but know that she cares. Please mention Robert in your prayers. And of course, we can remember the children we know who need those prayers as well.

Life can certainly make us tired at times, but we should never tire of adding our voices to the praise of God and the sincere requests for His blessings. Our entire world needs Him right now even if they don’t understand.

Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
