Just Little Jobs.
Though not any great shakes at doing much in this heat,
still, a few things have been accomplished today. For one, two long strips of double-sided
tape that held down a long strip of carpet got removed—slowly and painstakingly—today.
That stuff is not simple to remove. Or if it is, the old woman had no idea how to
do it in an easier and quicker manner. Probably should have employed some
Google research! Anyway, that section of the kitchen floor is now ready to be
scrubbed and polished as soon as the notion strikes.
Brought another box fan inside to use in the living room
when trying to cool that area of the house. Had to jet wash the fan and let it
dry before bringing it inside. The workshop is nice in so many ways, but dust
free it is not! Someday, in a far, far away future, maybe that workshop will be
emptied and cleaned and then rearranged. But not when the temperature is
hitting over the three digit marks every day. Also, the clothes hamper was jet
cleaned and left on the deck to dry after it was emptied of the laundry it had
been holding. SOME of the laundry got washed, dried, folded and put away, but
still have the whites to bleach. My question is this: how does that laundry
hamper get so very dirty? Hmm.
Have an appointment to see the dental technician tomorrow.
The place that was so sore has just about healed, but am guessing that it would
be right back again with just the right amount of tough chewing. Using baking
soda to clean my teeth and gums pretty much guarantees that the gums are going
to heal quickly when they get irritated, but no sense in letting a high spot
hit unnecessarily and cause problems. Daddy always used his pocket knife to whittle
on his upper plate, but my hands are not that steady and my disgust not quite
that determined. Sterling might do something like that, but not his sister!
Thinking tonight about the F-16 jets that have been given to
the Ukraine and how their pilots are having to be trained in a NATO country so
the jets will be effective in their battles. It is so sad that so very much of
mankind’s achievements are centered on killing each other rather than developing
better technology for creating clean sources of water and energy all over the
world. Can we imagine what the world might look like if we suddenly changed our
focus to cleaning up what we have and providing food, shelter, and even a
modicum of the blessings available to some of us to spread all over the world? Technology
is wonderful if it can be used to make life better and not to wipe out people
and places.
Whatever man can imagine, he will do. But only mankind with
God’s spirit will have the kindness and compassion to give the world and ALL
its inhabitants a good life. Let us do our part: spay and neuter, do with less
and provide other uses for the “surplus” of products and foods available,
provide for the wild animals a place for them to BE wild, and be consistent in managing
our resources like forests and wild grasses. The earth and everything in it owe
its existence to the Creator. May we be more concerned with doing our part of
caring for the resources!
Rest well, my friends. You are loved.
