So watching BritBox on the fire thingy that Jenn brought and set up and had to run out to check on the hens. Now there are some very lovely pictures as the screen savers on the TV. Wish they would label the places they show. Recognized Manchu Pichu, but the rest are mostly guesses. The ones in America--the San Francisco bridge--are easy enough to recognize. Others might be in Spain or somewhere in Europe. Ah well. Texas has many lovely sights. Thinking of a hill that overlooks a very large valley as one leaves St. Jo and heads north. It really took my breath away upon the first sight. But then, the Hill Country is like that somewhat as well.
Jennifer said that a trip back from the area north of San Antonio was like a deer run! That is what always happens when this time of the year comes. Think it must be time for the bucks to look for doe(s) or something. The deer are even active right here in WF wherever we have mesquites in the pastures. Doesn't take much cover. Same goes for the bobcats, coyotes, and skunks, however.
The series on the TV right now is called Silent Witness or something like that. The main character is a pathologist. Yes, it always has to do with death in that case. It's not like some funny show is going to come up to make life cheerful. Tried two different things that said they were funny. Nope. Stupid, but not funny. Will look some more in a bit. Just have to wait until after time to close the hens up.
Finished off the vegetable beef soup a few minutes ago. Pretty good soup even if it was made right here on Dickerson Hill. Made bacon, hash browns, and scrambled eggs this morning, but nothing really tasted good, so the dogs will finish that off later. Bleah. The eggs were not bad, but just did not suit me or something.
It is misting rain again. It has off and on all day. It's one of those days when a person can't really do diddly squat outside anyway. The hens still go out and root around for edibles, but the yard simply has no green grass right now. Probably need to buy a squash or two for them. Pretty funny thought: buying squash or something for chickens!
Got out the light box today so the grey days would not be as bad for me. Connie was telling me that she has to have prescription strength vitamin D because she is allergic to sunlight. Her skin is milk white, so she would burn in the sun anyway. Remembered that my Grandmother Kennedy had very fair skin and always wore a floppy hat and long sleeves. She burned easily, too. Maybe it is genetic?
Lance sent me a bag of stuff that had a soft, fluffy blanket inside. Had it wrapped around me this morning and lay down for a few minutes. Think it may have been more than a few because sleep was involved. Who knew that a soft blanket would induce sleep.
Think staying off of FB may have to be almost permanent except for just posting in Common Sense. Everything on the JP and AOL has not been very happy. So, please excuse me if a birthday is missed or something. If you need to talk to me, call me or send a private message on FB. Those are usually read.
Need to lie down to get to my toenails and clip the suckers. Can remember chewing my toenails as a kid. That just makes me laugh now thinking about it. Nowadays it is too difficult to bend over or put one leg across a knee to get to the nails at the right angle. Know that is why Charlie Anderson got a pedicure every so often. sigh
Don't want to sound like a gripey ol' woman tonight, so maybe this would be a good time to tell you that we share our thoughts and our prayers because we have the right attitude--most of the time. God has blessed us. And you are loved.
