With Much Love, Much Sorrow.

Today my doctor came to pick up eggs, and we spoke for a while. She reminded me that crying is sometimes good for us. Her words: With much love, comes much sorrow. Three years ago today the flu had just about laid me out. Felt like a rubber band that had about seen its better days. And then Hanan took his own life and upended mine. So yes, today there have been tears. And Hanan's friend John sent me flowers. The card said so much: Tis not good to Forget Those Who have helped us in this life. . . And he Gave Me a little Relief and Lots of Smiles.

Kissi says that Hanan shows up in her FB feed every so often and she remembers. They were friends, and he asked her to take care of me. And she has.

We talked about the mess that took place in D.C. Neither of us sees the things that happened there as a positive. It hurts to see police officers beaten to death or someone shot. Death is too final to arbitrarily take someone's life, but even worse to take their life for the wrong reasons. God help us as a nation to become less hateful.

The medication given to me enables me to do more than an old woman probably should. Impatience and independence are not good combinations for old folks. But things are done around here for the time being.

Went to the store to pick up an order phoned in. The celery sticks and the round roast were not in the order even though they were on the bill. Called and asked to have that part refunded. Dadgumit! Had planned on having a roast tomorrow. Guess something else will do just about as well. But somehow tuna does not really sound all that great. sigh

Have a book that needs to go into the mail to my girl. It is called The Culprit. Such a good book. It made me laugh more than once. Laughter is one of the other things our minds and bodies need! Jennifer has enough dogs and cats to write her own books! Crazy bunch of dogs and funny cats. Well, and then there's the boys!

Still have to let the faucets drip tonight and leave the cabinet doors open. Looking forward to anything green growing out back. And being able to use the water hoses would be nice, too. Oh well.

Winter in Texas is always full of surprises. One day it is 65 and the next 35! Now if the wind will just not blow us away in the next few days!

Let me remind you that anyone you love needs to be told--often. All we can really do for others starts in love. Never let a day go by that others don't hear that from you.

Rest well my friends. May God be with you. You are loved.
